I think Jazz and Grizzlies are better teams than the Mavs. Just like last year, the Mavs took their core unit and young studs and surrounded them with good scorers, but not really all-stars, from bad teams. Except now, theres no Nash. A good team does not that make.

Now that I am seeing every team to take into account, I might move Rockets down out of the playoffs instead and place Mavs at 6 with Nuggets at 7 and Lakers at 8.

Heres my prediction for the West, assuming everyone at full strength.

    1. Wolves
    2. Spurs
    3. Kings
    4. Grizzlies
    5. Jazz
    6. Mavs
    7. Nuggets
    8. Lakers

    9. Rockets
    10. Suns
    11. Blazers
    12. Hornets
    13. Sonics
    14. Clippers
    15. Warriors

And that is my final answer....

No way the Nuggets will finish worst than the Grizzlies. Will be a head to head fight with the Jazz, like last year, but I'll have to go with the Nugz. I know, I'm biased, but Carmelo is a crunch time player, so is KMart. What about the Jazz... AK? Boozer better than KMart??? In my opinion Booz isn't even better than Nene. Boykins is playing REALLY well in the pre-season and Dermarr Johnson is showing some promise.

IMO, the nugz are a 4th seed. And the Lakers won't make the playoffs IMO. Odom is too lazy, Kobe just LOVES to shoot and they don't have a C capable of fighting in the West.

I think the Utah Jazz will be on the outside looking in. I bet they finish at least .500 but just miss out. The west is too deep.

I agree, I don't think the Lakers are that much better at the PG spot than the Rockets, if you want to make that argument against the Rockets.

With that said, I have the Lakers AND the Rockets in the playoffs.......

Being a Hawks fan and seeing the way they have played in preseason, at 24 they are ranked too high.. they should be 29 just above the Bobcats.

                          Re: ESPN Power Rankings

Nuggets are pretty high on that list; if they can earn that spot, I'll definitely take it.

However, in regards to the Sixers, the only team they are ranked higher than in the Atlantic is the Raptors? Come on, I think that's a little harsh.

That being said, these rankings appear to based on training camps, so we'll see what happens when the regular season starts.

The East does represent well though, and it's nice to see that.

I'm a big time Bulls fan and I agree that we are not better than the Sonics. I think the Sonics deserve better in the Power Ranking.

                              BUT....

I will say that we are better than the Raptors. We have better inside scoring and better point guard play than the Raptors.

As far as the rankings go they should have flip flopped us with the Hawks. No way the Hawks are better than us. Yes they went out and got Walker but he's not going to make them any better than what they are.
