If you make the playoffs you've done your job. Maybe more weight should be given to a 1 seed player, but should never be the deciding factor over say a 4 seed who was the better player all season long.




Because the voting typical goes to the best scorer on the 1 seed. If Kawhi were to win MVP this year he likely won't be on the 1 seeded team, or top 5 in the league in PPG, which would in fact break the norm. I'd absolutely love to see it happen.

I don't see him averaging 32ppg on the season, and I was saying that if they fail to finish 1-3 I believe he should still get votes even though he likely would not.

When have I ever complained about an MVP other than D Rose? Who absolutely won because of team record.

I don't expect that from him either, but the "tongue in cheek" comment about him being MVP was based on him averaging 32.5 ppg, 5 spg and being the top scorer on an undefeated team.

Oh yeah, 2 games in he definitely fits the build.

Would love to see a two-way guy like him actually get the award at year end though. I think he's got a shot. Obviously Westbrook will have a strong case if OKC can win, LeBron if his numbers are up, and maybe even Davis if his stat line is freak-ish enough.

Maybe an outside shot for KD/Steph if one of them can clearly separate them self as the alpha.

Unless somebody comes along to shoot 50+ shots and play some of the most selfish basketball I've ever seen, I don't think there's a plausible chance that LA beats Utah tonight.

Took them 3 years but Love is finally the head of the secobd unit...baffling as to why that wasnt always the case...

As a guy who didn't really pay attention to him pre-Cleveland, has JR always been a good defender? I had this idea that he was a lazy defender who hit the occasional 30 footer but his defensive effort in the last 12 months has been amazing.
