    Re: 1/17 - 1/23 Games Discussion Thread

I would probably look to trade Noel first. He's the one complaining, he's the one who wants out, he's going to leave you eventually anyways.

Maybe you eventually move Okafor too, but at least you'll see what the team can look like with Simmons back and whatever new pieces you can get in a Noel trade before you decide to make another move.

Noel also struggles when playing PF instead of C, and that's all he will ever be with Embiid around. I don't remember all the exact numbers but there was an article that came out last year showing how drastically worse his defensive numbers are when playing out of position. The article basically explained it as, his whole life he's always had the ability to help and recover back to the paint, and he's great at that. But once you start having him help and recover elsewhere he basically gets lost because his instinct is to get back to the rim. So all these stretch 4's and small ball 4's have been a problem for him.

Wasn't Noel only complaining because he was glued to the bench? He's been playing more as the season has progressed and I haven't heard anything from him in a while.
I'd much rather try to work with a Noel/Embiid front court and I'm also interested to see what Jah could do on another team, but that's just me.

Philly went on this run once they started playing Noel with Embiid and sat Okafor.

Is Okafor sitting now? Trade him then, if Noel is happy now then I don't see a need for Okafor with their current build honestly.

That'd be something if the teams who had the #1 overall pick in both the NBA and NHL ended up making the playoffs the following season. If season ended today in the NHL, that'd be the case. And 76ers just 5 games out in the East, anything is possible.

Seems like a rare thing in any sport for a team to have that type of turnaround, but for it to happen in multiple sports in the same season?!

I really don't know why PG plays the way he does sometimes. Granted I didn't watch last nights game at all, but lost to the Lakers and PG was 8-15 for 21 points. Not that 15 shots isn't a lot, but if he's hitting them at a solid rate why not get more involved especially when no one else is playing well. I'd just like to see more shots from him in a game like that.

Small complaint I know, but he always seems to play really passive unless it's a big game. This year especially he's not attacking the rim as much, and not getting to the line as a result, don't know if that's a McMillan effect or what but he's not doing it. Under 5 FTA a game for him this year which is crazy low for a player his caliber. A lot of guys double that.. He complains about not getting calls but doesn't really give himself the opportunity much either.

How long until the NBA tells the Knicks they need to stop wearing shirts underneath their jerseys?

It's ballooned to Melo, Porzingis and Noah doing it. Feel like the warning is inevitable.

It doesn't look like the Knicks and Suns run any plays. But it's also been a lot of back and forth so possible no one has had the time or reason (see several players being left open).

I don't have one. But isn't it against the uniform rules? Maybe it's not.

                            Melo goes overboard with it.

It's like he spends all his VC on accessories instead of using them on his attributes especially on Defense where he could use them at.

I woudn't worry too much. It's not uncommon for superstars to be a little bit overwhelmed and shy against the Los Angeles Lakers.
