He has passed the ball a lot more this year, but he still does take many questionable shots.

My problem with him isn't that he's arrogant, it's that a lot of his fans won't admit it. But I'm glad to see three Kobe fans on here have admitted that he is.

Ya know what? Who are you to say that he IS arrogant and a prick? All of you and I'm sure everyone on this board has never met Kobe the person. Fans admitting he's a prick goes the same for fans who say he's not. I've never met the man in my life. Sure I've read media stories from both ends and I've seen him interviewed by the media. By that how is someone gonna call him out. The media can make us believe what they want us to believe. Shaq said it best, the media will hype anything to death to earn a buck (That's why XMAS will be the biggest sporting event of the year). If turning Kobe into a arrogant greedy street thug player is gonna make people read their stuff, you best bet that's what they are and have done with Kobe. Notice the media has shone away from saying Kobe is trying to be MJ-like. That's old news and this new Kobe wife cheater persona they've built is way bigger. Phil Jackson sure is trying to make us believe a certain Kobe persona. On the other end, Byron Scott who roomed with Kobe during his rookie season had nothing but praise for him.

Example - I met Pete Rose a couple years ago in a grocery store. I grew up looking up to him and watching the Reds. That man shunned me off and practically spit at me when I tried to converse with him, trying to be nice and asking what he was doing with his life. That in my book is a prick. But was he considered an arrogant punk while he was playing? No he was the great Charlie Hustle.

The only thing I think is funny is the TIMING of these comments. You don't make the comments after going 4/20 from the field. You make these kinds of comments after you score 40 and your team loses. Timing, Kobe, timing.

That is really the point. Why would he say this after he struggled and his shot was obviously off?

I have notice this season that Kobe is much more confrontational....he is not backing down from anything this year, and i would admit that it's kind of dumb (i like it when he would just say nothin and drop 40pts the next game) but he decided to speak....so what....

I just hope he backs it up and play well agaisnt Orl. His shot has been off so far but that usually goes away as the season wears on. I think he is allowed to be arrogant because he has backed it up in the past (and don't forget he also has that insane drive to get better.)

I'm a lakers/kobe fan...but you don't see me going around bad mouthing other players...becuase i don't care. I just want to see my team do well.

He gets caught cheating on his wife, so he has to publically admit he did. Who knows if there were any other incidents besides that one? Had Kobe not been caught, do you think he would have admitted it?
