David Aldridge sheds some light on the Artest situation

this is the most I have posted in a while here at the OS forums, and its not to brag about the pacers 4-1 start

Now this I can believe, finally someone in the media that makes some sense.

Kenny, Charles and Aldrige did a great job disucssing this,

Aldridge reported that Artest went to Carlisle earlier this week and said he wanted to retire, and that Artest and J.O got into a physical confrontation this week and that J.O is done with Artest.

    Now that is believable

If all of that is true I dont see how Artest will be a Pacer for too much longer

Artest is still an idiot and i dont blame Jermaine O'Neal 1 bit if i was Artests teammate and bigger then him i'd try to knock some sense into him also. I think Larry Bird should send Artest to a therapist he seriously does need help Barkley was right
As Shaquille O'Neal left the Suns practice court, he yelled out, "Alvin's the coach. We must be the Clippers. And I must be Olowokandi. Nooooo!"

Yeah, they have had beef for some time now haven't they Skins? Overall, I think it will be better for the organization if he did leave. I know he brings a lot to the table, but his view of the game just isn't right. I don't like his mentality, and I don't think he is good for the Pacers as a whole. Maybe if they can keep him medicated, then something can happen, but as it is now, you have to keep JO happy. He is your star of the future.

I knew Indy should have pulled that McGrady/Peja for Artest when they had the chance.

I dont know if they have had any problem WT, but it has been reported for a while they did have some problems. Artest was invited by Al(harrington) and JO out to go bowling once a week, and all seemed good.

i love his mentality, that what makes him such a great player. He brings a intensity on both sides of the floor, namely defense.

but i am tired of hearing the line "he loves to play the game" Dont all of these ****ing guys. Thats why they are in the National Basketball Association

It has been rumored he was prescribed his medication but he says he doesnt need it. He has issues, I have no problem admitting that.

While I never thought I would say this, trade his ***!!

The big problem for Indy is that, basically, NO ONE is going to trade for Ron Artest after this.

                            No one.

This is not a guy whose contract is ending. This is a guy with 'multiple years'...and, simply, no team can risk that. Ie, if he goes off / quits after a month the money stays on the cap against them and they have no player.

                            ie, a freaking disaster.

No one can risk that. It would be different if he had a year to go etc.

Indy is in a very, very difficult position. They are essentially reliant on Ron / can do nothing against him that won't hurt them.

ie, they can't get another player for him + suspending him etc only hurts their player ranks.

This is unprecedented really...even Rodman wasn't 'this' crazy.

I like Artest a lot...but he has serious / legitmate mental issues and Indy are stuck with him.
