Re: 2017 Western Conference Playoffs - 1st Round Discussion Thread
Is there a consensus on the right strategy for that situation. I get both sides of the coin.
Doc saying you need two points so you go and get it.
The reporter saying run the clock and try to tie the game at the last possible second.
I see a lot of the latter so I'm sure Doc could end up meeting with a lot of coaches. But is he entirely wrong? I don't think so but I get why you don't want your defense to save the day.

It's clear to me that you go for the tie as quick as possible in case you have to foul. The less you can have it come down to one play the better. At some point you have to trust your defense to get a stop. So I love these reporters that just second guess everything like they know the most about situational basketball."Ma'am I don't make the rules up. I just think them up and write em down". - Cartman

If you get a good shot, you take it 10 times out of 10. Don't chuck up a shot just for the sake of saving clock, but also don't dribble the clock out when you're down by a score.

Yup, it's all about getting as many opportunities as you can in situations like that. Even if it means stretching the game out at the FT line.#RespectTheCultureComment

False. The first order of operations is always run the triangle. Followed by what you said.

If McCollum can produce this kind of defense in addition to the offense he provides, they could take a game or two in this series. He already has a block on Thompson and has forced a couple misses.
I always think, or at least before they got Durant, that the key to slowing the Warriors down is not letting Klay have one of those spells where he hits like 9 straight and destroys your morale and momentum in 6 minutes.
