Now I dont fully believe you can have ultimate success, shooting quite as many as his team takes, averaging 40 3's a game. Even though the Warriors won a ring being a jump shooting team, and are likely to win another 1 this season, they do have the ability to lock teams down, and get out on the FB and get easy layups. Warriors are a unique group, they have toughness and the ability to light you up.

They didnt get there, though, lol, I do know what you mean, that was a exciting team to watch play. If I remember correctly that team played a little more D than any of his others did or have done. Regardless they were fun to watch, I will give you that, and I prefer a more smash mouth style of ball.

They hovered around 10-13th in defense in the league. Definitely more underrated than what they were given credit for.

I thought that team was in the top half of the league that season, but couldnt remember for sure. That team had a few guys who really played the game hard on defense. I think if Houston had a few more players that got after guys like Beverly does, they might be able to overcome their coach not valuing defense as a high priority. I believe it does hurt a team though when the best player like Harden has no desire to play D. I will say on the rare occasion this season towards the end of some tight games, he put forth a little more effort than he typically does.

He's been doing it all season really but nobody has cared about defense this season oddly enough.

Winning tends to do cause most to overlook the lack of energy or desire to play defense, especially with the offensive stats that Harden is putting up

Seems to be the same way with turnovers per game that get overlook, when a player is scoring and assisting like Harden has. Same can be said for Westbrooks turnovers being overlooked when your averaging a triple double.

In all fairness, even though I dont like Harden, or Dantoni, if he wasnt doing what he is doing, they wouldnt be where they are at either. Same goes for Westbrook, never really cared much for him, but if he didnt do what he did, that team wouldnt be where they are at either.

In all honesty its been impressive what both Harden and Westbrook have done offensively this season, to get to the playoffs. Especially Westbrook, to go out and play like he does night in and night out, is impressive.

It will be interesting to see hwo wins MVP, or if we see a co-MVP even. Neither play much defense, but Westbrook does play more of it than Harden, so if I had a vote Id probably vote Westbrook, using that as my tie breaker, along with the fact that he is elite company with the Big O for averaging a triple double all season. Both really deserve the award if truth be told.

i was talking about in general. The league hasn't cared much about defense this year... the NBA and media that is.

It's been largely ignored, it was non-existant in the all-star game, and everybody was spazzing over triple doubles towards the end so I don't even wanna hear about it now like they care.

Gobert got some pub off his blocks but they'll probably give that award to Draymond.

Spurs and Warriors will be 1 heck of a WCF's. Dont see any other outcome than that happening in the West. Houston has a HC and star player who dont value defense, Clippers have star power, who cant put it all together when it counts most. Utah plays hard, but are probably not quite their just yet, but I love watching them play.
                          Houston gonna take out SA.

First they're beefing with Barkley, now they are going after Stephen A? That's unecessary....
