And the same could be said of Harden. He ain't going anywhere being the main guy. Question is, do either of them want to defer and share that spot, or would they rather stack individual stats, be lauded for "heroic" solo performances, build their brand, and lose in the 1st/2nd round.

Not until they have better teams built around them. Neither team imo has enough to beat SA or GSW in 7 games. But Houston has the best shot out of the two. Harden has a solid group built around him.

It's time to just blow this clipper **** up unless CP3 really wants to stay but why would he. It's not working and it won't. They blew Thier chance 2 years ago. Trade Blake to OKC, or Boston or even NY. Blake can't take them where they need to go. Even if he was healthy.

Doc can go to Orlando like he wants too

Being number 3 was never going to work for Harden in OKC, but I don't think that he would mind a 1A-1B situation where sometimes he was the A and sometimes he was the B. I don't think that Russ is at that point yet, and won't be for years, if ever.

I don't know if the CBA in the NBA allows for it, but if Blake exercises his ETO, and someone else signs him, his deal needs to be incentive laden focusing on percentage of games missed, and more specifically percentage of playoff games missed .

Since moving to point his playstyle is built on deferring and letting other people eat. If KD came to Houston with THIS Harden (not rookie, 6th man Harden) I think they could win a chip or two. I will say, seeing what Harden is doing with no All-Stars and HOW he is elevating them, I think he could thrive with a KD.

Conversely, based on his time with KD I think Russ isn't really built to play with another superstar. I also don't think he'd fit well on the this Houston team predicated on ball movement and sharing the rock. I honestly think Russ has a team and system built to his specific skill set (though I know others disagree). JVG was saying the same thing last night about how Donovan and the brass don't get enough credit for building the team and system around Russ and his skills the same way MDA/Morey get credit. I thought it was a great point (but am a huge JVG fan!)

I'll gladly take Blake in BK especially with our medical staff.

We gave Brook a new foot twice and look at him now. So I have no doubt about doing the same for Blake. Plus, Blake can also fill our Lightskin Dude quota since we have an opening right now and NBA Bylaws force us to have one on the team.

I never said impossible, but I feel it to be an unlikely scenario that either team could beat SA or GSW in 7. Unless one of the two teams has a major injury. I'll be very surprised if the Rockets pull that off. Seeing as they have struggled with OKC.

But let's take a step back for a second. A young Durant/Westbrook led OKC team got to the Finals and got beat by a nasty, legendary Heat team and there was no way an experienced, LeBron was gonna fail again.

Then last year they have the best regular season team ever against the wall. And blow it. Westbrook bears some blame as did everyone else on the team.

After Durant copped out, now it's just the OKC Westbrook's. And he literally got them to the playoffs, and now has that team battling a very good Houston squad.

I just don't get the knock on Westbrook, Durant is as much to blame as Westbrook is for not winning a championship.

And if Westbrook doesn't run into two damn great teams, maybe he has a chip. To me WB has overachieved. His erratic play can be ugly to watch at times. But he's such a force on the floor. He literally does everything.

Russ was fine with KD last year. Got himself to double digit assists and let KD get his 25 shots a game in the playoffs.

But ideally he needs a player that is much better at playing off the ball than what KD was. He had a better connection with Kanter and Adams than he ever did KD. He can't be paired with a player who stands.

I don't think it's that simple. All Star selection or not Gordon has played at that level pretty much this whole season. Lou was even up around 20 a night before coming to Houston.

Also, Harden looks better with all these shooters than he ever did when he actually had All Stars on his team.

No I completely agree. I just don't agree Harden can't win it as a first option. He would need more help, this Rockets team as constructed isn't enough. But this is true of every superstar ever. Even Bron and Jordan needed other Superstars. I think Harden has matured into a person who could win on the right team. I think he's shed the selfish label.

This is true, it's not that simple. I was just saying that he would need more to beat Golden State/Cleveland. Both guys would. What exactly is needed I don't know. Sad that the best player Beard ever played with was a past his prime Dwight who never bought in to Houston's system. He could have THRIVED in that PnR game like players half as talented as he was are now. But he wanted to post up all day. Shocked that despite chemistry issues they got the 2 seed and made the WCF.
