That's what you do when you're negotiating. Start with an offer that you hope they will take, but know they likely won't, then go from there. My .02 Jaylen is going nowhere, BRK 18 is going nowhere. This is KP we're talking about not AD.

    #3
    *LAL 18 1st
    *MEM 19 1st
    Crowder

*considering their protections both of those picks have the potential to be really good even if they aren't conveyed in 18 or 19.

That's my final offer. Well, maybe I would add Yabusele or our own 18 pick just to sweeten the deal, but that's about it. The next two drafts have a lot of big projected to be at the top, so no need to overpay for a player who only has one year left on their rookie deal.

He did the day before it happened. Did it on a podcast.

Gimme a second and I'll pull up the quote/link from it because I remember mentioning that right after the trade actually happened.

This deal no chance of happening. Phil is said to be dug in on the ask and there is no way Ainge meets the price.

            Thats...odd.

Wouldn't this trade have to involve a player the Celtics don't want to trade to the Knicks?

Why would Minnesota make this move unless they were getting Brown or the Nets pick or something like that? Otherwise, this is Thibs getting ripped.

If the Wolves are trying to trade the 7 to the Bulls or Pacers for Butler or George, why would they trade it to the Celtics?

Yeah if that's the deal I'm happy taking the pick. Imo it has to be one of Jaylen or 2018 nets Pick not both.

I can't imagine Ainge would agree to this or that Celtics fans would be happy.

I don't want to see KP go but if that offer is on the table then you have to take it. We get 3 & 8 this year and given how awful we'll be next year (as well as BK) then we'll probably have two Top 5 picks in 2018.

I'm not a huge fan of Brown but I think he can turn into a solid starter.

I'm really interested to see if Kelly Oubre can make a big leap. I love his defense, but he needs offensive work and confidence.

We need to start worrying about Gortat, though. I had a dream the other night Boogie and D.Lo ended up in DC in 2018.
He's definitely not worth the max which is why I'm worried. Ariza wasn't worth what he got when he left the Lakers either (though he had a new ring on his resume when he was shopping for a team). It wouldn't be out of the question for somebody to overpay Porter, unfortunately.

I like Oubre, could see him taking another step forward. But losing Porter with the hope that Oubre can fill the role this year is asking too much imo. Losing Porter for George though? I think we could all be okay with that.

KP is essentially locked up for three more years. TO and QO through 2020.

Clippers offered Deandre Jordon to the Celtics for the #3 pick in order to draft Josh Jackson, per ESPN.
