Kudos to OKC taking advantage of a very bad situation. Gotta love the NBA man

Re: 2017 Offseason Thread
Honestly, the East is so weak it is killing my interest in the NBA.
They need to go with a best 16 team play offs.
Everything is just farcical in the East.Comment

From KD to Paul George...not a bad consolation even though they had to wait a year.

Re: 2017 Offseason Thread
Paul George letting everyone know his future intentions of signing with the Lakers screwed over Indiana big time. There's nothing Indiana could do that would be much better than what they got. They should've traded him before that went public because it seemed as if Bird knew his intentions and the reason he bounced up out of there.
True, but they had better deals. The fact that we couldn't even get a garbage 1st round pick from them is mind blowing to me. LA offered Randle/Clarkson and 2 late 1st's. Boston was rumored to be offering Crowder/Smart and LAC's 1st. Cleveland offered Love. All 3 of those are better, maybe not much better but still better... This just seems like a deal to put fans in the seats because Oladipo played 4 years at IU.
Whatever man. Embrace the tank I guess, but I can't believe we took that deal. Can't wait to hear Pritchard's rationalization for this. Why couldn't he just wait too... there's no reason Dipo and Sabonis wouldn't have still been on the table later on.

Re: 2017 Offseason Thread
The Celtics made the ECFs but are a couple years away? Nah man. No one's throwing a pity party for you guys.
Philly was a bad team hoarding picks. The Celtics are a successful team by anyone's measures besides Celtics fans of course.
You guys have excess picks, pick swaps, etc. Danny slow-playing this as if he's in a poker tournament and he's the only one playing. Is he going to tell Hayward that they're "a couple years away"?
You guys over value guys like Smart, Avery, etc. Freaking Oladipo got flipped.
Ain't nobody feeling sorry for y'all.Comment

You think Danny should have offered more than what is being reported he offered? That's lunacy. And who is asking you to feel sorry for anyone?Comment

It seems like since Pritchard couldn't get bigger market teams to pay through the nose, he just decided, "screw it, I'll give a Christmas present to one of the leagues super small market teams."Jordan Mychal Lemos

Re: 2017 Offseason Thread
Word on the street is that Utah Jazz forward Joe Ingles, a restricted free agent, could easily get around $15 million per in free agency.
— Tim Bontemps (@TimBontemps) July 1, 2017
Specifically, hearing Ingles could have an offer in the 4-year, $60 million range from the Orlando Magic. If so, hard to see Utah matching.

Re: 2017 Offseason Thread
Pacers should have made a move early on instead of now to get Oladipo (and his bad contract) and Sabonis. In a way it makes sense to ship him to the West and not to a division rival/East. But, I'm sure that that there were better deals than that.
Definitely agree with the Embiid post. There is only 5 legit Playoff teams in the East. Cavs, Celtics, Raps, Wiz, and Bucks. You can almost certainly write off Pacers and Bulls as they are going into rebuilds. Hawks is a mystery, but don't see Millsap returning so they could miss out. So I think 6-8th spots could end up being(in no order); Miami, Hornets, and Philly.
Makes you wonder if top 16 format would help with balance in playoffs. I think Denver, Wolves, Pelicans have legit chances to make Playoffs next year. Maybe Clippers could fall off if Griffin doesn't stay healthy after he will already miss start of next season. Only other team from West that you count off is Grizzlies. But they seem to always make the playoffs. So I think there could be at least 2 teams in West missing Playoffs while East have teams barely over .500 make it inComment

Re: 2017 Offseason Thread
Someone in here said the Celtics don't mind having PG as a rental. If that's the case then clearly they have more assets to trade than OKC.
Oladipo and Sabonis for a player of PG's caliber is utter trash. Oladipo has 4 years $84M left on his contract. I mean what the hell..Comment
