Re: 2017 Offseason Thread
Apparently Ball is only going to work out for the Lakers.
I tell ya, this kid is going to fail...HARD. He may have tons of talent but the attitude and idiocy between him and his father is just going to make it doubly hard for him to be a true talent in pro ball.
He needs to fall in the draft and face some humility.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

He's been pretty much out of the loop(as far as TV)since his season ended while his Pops has been the one making a fool out of himself so why does the son need to be humbled for?
We've seen nothing from him since he declared to suggest that he's just like his Dad.#RespectTheCultureComment

I think you're overreacting a bit here.

We'll certainly see how it goes but it would be a media circus if he ends up in LA.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

Re: 2017 Offseason Thread
Yea Lonzo seems incredibly laid back and his UCLA teammates loved him. Lonzo is confident but not arrogant like his father.
Nothing wrong with Lonzo. Lamelo is much more like Lavar, he's always talking. Think that apple doesn't fall too far from the tree.

Yea I haven't followed these prospects that much (pretty much for a like a month at most). I haven't even heard Lonzo say anything it's all been LaVar.

Agreed. Lonzo's personality seems fine to me. And while his dad is annoying as hell, it wouldn't deter me from drafting Lonzo.
I just think Lonzo is overrated as a prospect personally. I have him around #7 in this class.

Re: 2017 Offseason Thread
I really think if the Knicks get Monk, they'll end up being pretty happy. He'd be a steal at eight.
If Booker's game translated that quickly to the NBA, I don't see how Monk's doesn't, he can flat out shoot and score. Only reason he isn't higher on most Mocks, he had poor rebounding and assist numbers.

Only comes with an autograph if they spent $1000 instead of the normal $500.
At any rate, I don't think there's any reason to believe Lavar was telling the truth when he said 400-500 pairs.

Re: 2017 Offseason Thread
I don't think Lonzo deserves heat but I think only working out for the Lakers is the first tangible step of his father negatively impacting his NBA career (those shoes was the first of him effecting his marketing career).
I like the kid, but I'm not sure he's a #2 pick in this year's draft, especially to a team that probably has bigger needs in other areas. If he doesn't go top 2 it's no telling how far he can drop after refusing to work out for anyone else.Comment

Though you never know what GMs might be thinking. Maybe some just don't want to have to deal with all the off-court drama that could happen because of drafting him. Lakers especially where you KNOW it'll be the most annoying of any possible city. Go to Minnesota or something, media won't care as much about him there compared to LA,Boston,Philly.Comment
