Exactly. There's no pressure on any team to give up anything for him if he wants to hit FA. Same with Cousins since he'll be a UFA next offseason.

This time last year, KD was a lock to stay in OKC because "there was no way he'd turn down that extra money".

We're at a point where players want the Free Agency Experience, especially if they've never had it before. They just don't want to answer the 100 million questions that come along with it over the course of the season.

This is one argument I can see for it. Not worth gutting your team if the player you get back isn't LeBron or Durant etc. So it's worth it to wait and hope he'll just sign with you outright. I hope it doesn't go to that though, but then again like I said that'd at least leave a chance he could resign with Indy next year if it comes to that so I don't know.

If they take Fultz I would not be surprised if he plays minutes next year similar to what jaylen brown played this year. He's probably not gonna step in and just play 30 minutes right away. Im thinking more like 15-20. I would prefer they move smart eventually. I like rozier and Bradley too much. Depends on what Bradley is looking for I guess.

I want nothing to do with moving on from
IT. They just gotta get another person or two who can consistently knock down shots around him. Everyone they have now is just way too streaky. He's forced to try and take over when they don't hit their shots and in that situation he can easily be trapped and contained.

            Per ProBasketballTalk

The Magic reportedly feared Serge Ibaka leaving in free agency this summer, so they traded him to the Raptors.

It probably wasn’t a coincidence Toronto, among the teams that could have used Ibaka for the stretch run, made Orlando the best offer.

            Steve Kyler of Basketball Insiders:

Most in NBA circles believe that Ibaka made it clear to the Magic the only team he wanted to land with was Toronto, and it’s likely why other teams in the hunt for him passed on giving big assets.

League sources said that a new deal for Ibaka is basically done and that it will start in the $20 million range. It’s possible someone surfaces on July 1 with a better offer, but given Ibaka’s age and rocky season in Orlando, that seems unlikely.

Ibaka has shown signs of decline. The length of that contract will be critical.

A deal with such a high starting salary will also put the Raptors in luxury-tax territory if they also re-sign Kyle Lowry (which is in question). Raptors president Masai Ujiri said Ibaka is probably better now at center than power forward.

Trading Jonas Valanciunas could solve both issues, so he’ll be a player to watch this summer.

              Pack breaking Raptors news!?!

Ibaka for 20m would be nice. I doubt someone tops it. Feeling people had from moment trade happened was a verbal agreement on him re-signing which is why they got him.

If they keep Lowry too, they're gonna be in luxury tax. Carroll better be traded to help balance this out. Hasn't done anything to help the team at all. Deal Carroll, make Powell starting SF, draft backup wing, get new coach.

In the new NBA, that's the going rate. Ryan Anderson is getting around that much money too. Millsap and Griffin were getting that amount under their old contracts(both of which will opt out of), and Aldridge getting 21M before more than likely opting out after next year.

Iggy seems so comfortable there....has the perfect role for this stage of his career..

Unless they are really far apart on mney I cant see him leaving..

I hope Livingston is the one that leaves and decides to come on back home.

Crazy to think that he's only 31 and still going strong.

I would love to see him somewhere with a bigger role. He's one of my favorite guys in the league.

That's the point. His 21M contract right now isn't good enough which is why he'll opt out. Top tier PFs like Aldridge will be getting around that 30M range. Someone like Ibaka getting around 20M isn't so bad.

You could just say that y'all don't have a choice but to pay him and that it makes the trade go from a "complete waste" to "semi complete waste".
