Re: 2017 Offseason Thread
Jeff Green about to have played for every damn team in the league. Didn't catch much of Orlando but when I did I was definitely focusing on the young guys and Jeff Green was basically nonexistent for me.
A couple years ago when he was at Memphis he was pretty solid. Only problem with that fit was that they needed him to be better than that. I think they bought he could bring what he gave Boston and expand on that, but it didn't really happen. Luckily for Cleveland all they really need him to be able to do is make the right plays and defend the 3 and 4 spots at a decent level. Could be a good fit.
Interestingly enough he's still only 30. Which is a plus considering the only versatile two-way guy on their bench right now is a 72 year old Richard Jefferson.
Speaking on Green, who was the Celtics fan in here a few years back that kept trying to convince everyone how good Jeff Green was? lol wasn't he always taking him up like he was basically a Jimmy, PG, Kawhi type of player?

Probably just wanting to impress Gabby. He picked up nothing but ask the ref where the foul was habits from D Wade. He don't care about that dude being in the building.

Re: 2017 Offseason Thread
I think it came down to Pop going with veterans (Lee, Gasol & Aldridge] over the unknown that was Dedmon. He also was less productive/impactful as a starter than anticipated, too.
It'll be interesting to see if he returns or moves on to a different or "better" situation, although he fits a big need for the team, IMO.

Re: 2017 Offseason Thread
Pretty sure he's talking about the idea out there that guys somehow owe it to the teams that drafted them to stay and fight, and not leave chasing rings or whatever. Meanwhile Avery Bradley gets dumped because the Celtics are adding a player from another team and need to clear cap space. Players don't owe these franchises ****. They're just employees.Comment

Interesting read from Kevin O'Connor at The Ringer about the Salary Cap starting to normalize and teams should still be cautious about throwing out big money contracts:

Re: 2017 Offseason Thread
The Cavs are another in a long line of teams thinking they can get something positive from Jeff Green. He was horrible in Orlando. Respected because of what he survived. His attitude on the court was just way to laid back and he played like it. Him and Frye are cut from the same cloth.
Good riddance

Heat thankfully get rid of that bum mcRoberts by trading him to Dallas for A.J Hammonds. Heat also give up 2023 2nd and cash
