Re: 2017 Offseason Thread
In some instances they do yes. But where I was going was that is if you're going to make the wise business decision you may upset a few fans in the process. That's all I was going for, I could be wrong but it was just my thoughts in regards to those two players mentioned.Comment

Re: 2017 Offseason Thread
In all honesty, AB was a far better future asset than IT2.
But I understand how the Celtic fans feel about IT2 and that would've been nigh impossible.
It's a business at the end of the day and you're trying to win yes? Then look past fan approval and find a way to ship IT2 and keep AB if you're serious about contention.Favorite Teams:
NCAA- University of Illinois Fighting Illini
NFL- Cleveland Browns
MLB- St. Louis Cardinals
NBA- Boston Celtics
NHL- Chicago Blackhawks

Re: 2017 Offseason Thread
Don't lump me in with that crowd. I don't have and didn't have any problem with PG leaving Indy. I didn't even object to the situation after he got moved to OKC. It is what it is. It's a business and he doesn't owe the team anything more than what he gave them in his career already. I'm in a city with a team that does players dirty in favor of their idiotic front office all the time so I don't have much sympathy for teams. However Paul opening his mouth now after the trade has gone down talking about he wanted them to get something and then proceeding to NOW try to pump the brakes on the LA talk is crap. We don't need to sit here and try to play the semantics game on whether he said he was going to help them get a steak or a ham sandwich. He's not bringing that up to say it that way come on now.

Pretty sure Luke wants to keep him in that combo guard 6th man role. I mean even Nick Young started over him all of last season.
Regardless this puts less pressure on Lonzo being thrown into the fire, and less pressure on Ingram to immediately need a breakout year.
With D'Lo out I'm not even sure who the other guards on the roster are. If they were to start Clarkson do they even have a back up SG? Do they even have a proven point guard on the roster at all? Unless Lonzo is a great rookie from the get go they're going to have Clarkson handling the ball as a point man just as often as a 2-man.

Re: 2017 Offseason Thread
I thought the Nets might go after KCP but I guess they were out when they traded for Carroll. Or did I assess that wrong?
Either way, dude got shafted by RFA and we benefited from it. Bad gamble & timing for him. Did he fire his agent?
Two way 2 guard, pretty happy with this signing. Kinda surprised they got him for that one year.Comment

Re: 2017 Offseason Thread
To make space (they have 16.5 and KCPs contract is 18) they'll prolly release Nbawa and resign him at vet min no?

They can't release nbawa after they just signed him then resign him. You'd have to wait at least a year.
They need to get rid of Deng though.
As far as his agent.
Dun dun dundun!!!!
He's with Klutch Sports. Lebrons agency.
Que the rumors at the first sign of Lebron not being happy in cleveland next season that he can just play in LA.

Re: 2017 Offseason Thread
I thought there was a zero chance we would get KCP. I'm surprised a player that young didn't take the longer years from the Nets. He's essentially betting on himself the way Waiters did and trying to create his own market.
Hypothetically, if he comes in and plays good defdnse(all his analytics say he's a bad defender) & hit the three at a high level. This time next year he might be a 100 million type of guy.Comment
