Re: 2017 Offseason Thread
Kyrie asked for a trade before the draft, but never said anything about it.
Kyrie's agent talked to a few reporters when the news actually leaked about having the meeting but never went into detail about what was discussed.
Kyrie's camp never said anything because the Cavs didn't want his request to affect any of their trade negotiations.
Someone leaked it but not from the team or Kyrie.Comment

Re: 2017 Offseason Thread
If no one from his camp or the team leaked it to anyone else, we wouldn't be hearing about it would we?

So Kings planning to play Kyrie and Hill together? What about Hield? 3 guard set up instead with Randolph and WCS starting?
Who am I forgetting?

Re: 2017 Offseason Thread
Lot of guards. Still got Vince, Malachi Richardson, Frank Mason, Garrett Temple, Bogdan Bogdanovic. Though you figure some of these guys would go in a potential deal for salary matching purposes.

Re: 2017 Offseason Thread
Since we have gotten to the dead part of FA and while we are feasting on jokes about Kyrie and such, how about letting it all loose and go with speculation or go with speculative scenarios (yes, am that bored) ...
Since Kyrie has not a no trade clause, therefor has little leverage and since trading him to either an Eastern conference team or a Western conference powerhouse is counter productive to CLE, I consider this scenario be favorable to CLE and to a great degree, to all involved ...
CLE gets:
C. Anthony - PF/SF - $ 26.20 - 2 years (from NYK)
D. Wade - SG - $ 23.80 - 1 year (from CHI)
D. Exum - PG - $ 5.00 - 1 year (from UTA)
2019 1st round pick (from UTA)
Total incoming = $ 55.00, this year savings = $ 4.30 (almost the triple considering the tax penalty)
Other related notes ...
- They can sign Rose for the minimum and offer him more playing time, Exum at least can defend when in crunch, thus sacrificing the $ savings
- A reunion with Melo and Wade could be positive for LBJ focus and animosity, as well as for team cohesiveness
- Next year should LBJ chooses to leave and they don't like Exum nor Wade, they would have $ 61.40 off the payroll, plus still have Carmelo and Love as either trade assets or part of the team
- While a very much older version of current CAVS and with worse frontcourt D, I see them as still the Eastern conference lock to the Finals, not considering injuries tho.
- Is difficult to win a trade were you are giving away a superstar or close to superstar, but this is as close as you can get to winning it, when the rumor of a discontent one that wants out start
NYK gets:
D. Favors - PF/C - $ 12.00 - 1 year (from UTA)
J. Johnson - SF/PF - $ 10.50 - 1 year (from UTA)
C. Payne - PG - $ 2.20 - 2 years (from CHI) or it could also be Grant (since they seem looking to get back players with previous stints)
Total incoming = $ 24.70, this year savings = $ 1.50
Other related notes ...
- They get a young frontcourt player with upside that can man the C, rebound and defend; they get a still productive veteran to play the SF and a young PG with some experience to pair with Nik. Plus tons of $ off the payroll next year.
- Same as above about superstars or close to superstars trades, thus to me, this is a clear win for them
CHI gets:
R. Rubio - PG - $ 14.30 - 2 years (from UTA)
I. Shumpert - SG - $ 10.30 - 2 years (from CHI)
Total incoming = $ 24.60, this year savings = $ 1.40
Other related notes ...
- They trade Wade and get an unselfish PG that could make their young's feel more comfortable, plus they get a stablished role player of the bench
UTA gets:
K. Irving - PG - $ 18.30 - 2 years (from CLE)
T. Thompson - C - $ 16.40 - 3 years (from CLE)
J. Smith - SG $ 13.80 - 3 years (from CLE)
Total incoming = $ 49.00, this year payroll add = $ 6.20
Other related notes ...
- They will get a Superstar/close to Superstar player, plus two stablished players to add depth to the team
- They once again will be within the top 5 teams in the West and Kyrie style and wants might be the player UTA needs
- I think is a huge but necessary gamble to try and get to new highs and to do not completely waste their young on his way to a superstar C prime, Kyrie might bolt, but they would be betting on him feeling comfortable as their focal Offensive and with their upside and overall performance
What do you guys think ?Comment

Re: 2017 Offseason Thread
Draymond needs to take this L
He added: "Now ask yourself why I'm rocking C.J. when I don't know or give a f--k about basketball. I dribble heads off the floor. Not a ball. This is no game here kid."
So why wear a Watson jersey? From USA Today's Martin Rogers:
"Back in January, back when the fight still seemed improbable, McGregor took aim at his opponent's ugly domestic violence record. Mayweather spent time in prison for battering Josie Harris, mother to three of his children, in September 2010.
Having split with Harris, she says he entered her home in the middle of the night and was infuriated to find messages from NBA player C.J. Watson on her phone. Mayweather's son, Koraun, then 10, told the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department that he had seen his father on top of Harris—hitting and kicking her."Comment

Man that ain't no damn L. Any celebrity trying to play the "I don't know who you are" card with another celebrity (especially when the celebrity they're trying to pull it on is more famous than them) is automatically disqualified from handing someone an L for such a weak comeback.

TBH, I'd say Connor is the more famous one with his global fan base...
The only 'L' came with the 'list my accomplishments' response Dray had if you ask me, lol.
