And what would that mean for Rubio and Kris Dunn? Thought Rubio had a solid year for them this season.

Oh you know the excuse coming there. They didn't lose to the Spurs in the playoffs most recently so that's different. Cause lord knows had the Thunder lost to the Rockets last year in the playoffs, no one at all would have had a problem with Durant's decision....

Man he joined a team that just won 73 games, had the current back to back MVP, just made two straight finals, already won a championship, and just finished whooping his *** in a series he should have won.

It's different from all these situations whether it be Bron, or now CP3, or whoever else. You guys can argue back in forth how much of a difference it is I don't care enough to have a big argument, but at the end of the day it is different.

For comparisons sake, KD's move would have been more like LeBron joining the Celtics after they beat him. They would have just beaten him, had a former MVP on the team, had an established coach, won a championship and reached the finals multiple times, had 3 current all stars already playing together with chemistry and unity built.

Chris Paul would be more similar to KD's move from the perspective that Pop already has a culture built with that group, and they are considered contenders already without him. But it still wouldn't be at the same magnitude. He's not leaving a team that could already win the West, he's not a top 3 player in the league, the Spurs haven't been in the finals, don't have multiple current All Stars, etc.

He was really refreshing to listen to a while back when he was doing his run on all the ESPN shows. Actually surprised he hasn't already done any studio work since being out

Too early to compare IMO but it definitely can't reach KD's level.

It honestly depends how the NBA Finals play out. If the Warriors sweep the Cavs, then Cavs/Spurs are gonna do whatever they can to try and compete, which is their attempt at a superteam like the Dubs. Warriors just have to bank on quality guys on minimum deals to keep their bench depth. If they do beat the Cavs easily this year and keep a bench, I'm not sure how they can be dethroned other than injury TBH for the next 3-4 years.

I don't want Chris Paul's whiny, pretentious, needs the ball to be effective *** on the Spurs. It'd end up just as big a failure as Gasol and too a lesser extent Aldridge.

No, it wouldn't be a "Beta move" because he isn't at nor has he ever been at KD's level. He needs to be on a damn near perfect team (apparently) to make even the conference finals, while KD accomplished that on a flawed - but talented - Thunder team last year.

KD didn't need to bail and join a "winning team," but did so because it is easier to "join them than to beat them." Chris Paul (like Carmelo Anthony) needs to jump on someone else's gravy train before he hits his decline. His days of being the best PG in the NBA are over and now he should focus on getting over the hump (conference finals at least).

Seriously fellas, lets move on to the offseason talk. Im not not even sure why KD had to be forced into the conversation again.

Look at 24 playing Mod, go head young blood is moving on up.

But yeah, CP3 is still a Top 5 PG arguably in the league. Not like he's showing signs of washed status and with his style of play, he could play into his late 30s and still be effective regardless of what team he's on.

Me and Posse disagree on CP3 though....I think hed actually welcome the chance to play a bit more off ball and fall in line....

The real issue for me is how to get him without gutting the team..

So is DeAndre going to be left all alone in Clipper-land?

Just convince Doc that it's over, they need to rebuild. Then send LMA/Gasol packing for CP3 and Griffin.

I did this trade in 2K MyLeague and y'all still lost to GS though in the 2018 playoffs, so...

But for real, looking at your cap situation it seems like it'd only be possible by getting rid of LMA and/or Gasol. Manu's $14 mil comes off the books but you still got LMA and Gasol eating up a combined $35 mil. Not sure who would be willing to take either of them off your hands at that price either.
