I still have this funny feeling that Irving still might not be traded.

I know that's a wild take, but it feels like it's taking too long, mixed with the fact that they having a tough time getting teams to commit to the deal.

I would not be surprised if everything gets worked out, like you wife asked for a divorce, then y'all make up at the last minute

      That's a possibility.

Maybe relations could warm up enough for them to get into the season and play together.

They'd have to eat enough crow and show enough appearance of apologizing for that to work though.

      Not impossible but very difficult.

Will give you Kyrie is younger and bigger, besides that I don't a large leap in what each brings to a team. Swapping out IT in favor of Kyrie won't make the Celtics substantially better. So while Kyrie may be a tier above an IT, it still takes the right situation for a trade for Kyrie to be worth it for the receiving team.

It just would be so weird to see Boston do a trade with their direct rival

I doubt the two side would ever come to an understanding. But Ainge has to do due diligence and the Cavs have to listen because Boston has the pieces to get a deal done.

Could've sworn he was on their summer league team.

He may have been but he went undrafted so they officially signed him.

Ian Clark has agreed to a one-year deal to join the Pelicans.

Pelicans shaping to be the next Clippers with that glaring hole at the SF position.

Solomon Hill or Darius Miller gonna have to take a huge leap forward. Or maybe they'll sign a veteran SF before training camp? Not sure Clark makes sense with Moore and Crawford on the roster, although he could be the backup PG (Rondo and Holiday possibly start together).

I'm surprised there's been little news of Tony Allen.

Surely plenty of teams could use his service.

It's August 2nd and Irving still hasn't been traded. Interesting.

If Cousins had more years left on his contract I'd like to have seen a Cousins Kyrie swap. Would've been interesting for both teams imo.

(Is I'd like to have seen correct ?)
