Do the Knicks have cap space for Dion? Haven't heard them mentioned this off season other than the typical circus noise.

I love in a silly way how "The Players Tribune" is a thing.

Not even sure what their cap situation looks like.

The way things are going, the top 4 seed teams in each conference would have to be in the luxury tax to field a 50-wins or more team.

Unless a team hits on a couple of all-stars still on their rookie contracts.

Small market teams don't have owners with deep pockets. Tech billionaires like Ballmer isn't going to buy teams in a smaller market. Only exception may be someone like Ranadive.

Free agents may consider how much money a team would pour into the payroll. Utah has spent money, locked up key players. But have they indicated if they're willing to pay luxury taxes to build a contender?

Don't remember seeing it mentioned here, but Omri Casspi signed a one year deal with the Warriors.

Derrick Rose is meeting with the Clippers tomorrow.

And Jamal Crawford and the Lakers have mutual interest if he's bought out by the Hawks.

I think we have about $12-14m in cap space at this point.

Really hope Mills has told D-Rose to scram at this point. All I want out of the rest of this offseason is Rose to sign elsewhere.

Sucks to see Hayward bail on Utah just so he can play second fiddle to Isaiah Thomas.

Not sure how this move makes Boston that much better, especially when they have 3 SF's on the roster already.

As opposed to staying in the West that is a meatgrinder but best case he gets wrecked by Curry/Klay/KD.

Celtics are playing the long game, have IT and Hayward, Jaylen Brown and Tatum, Nets and Lakers/Kings picks along with a ton of other assets still.

Once LeBron slows down the Celtics are setup to run the East, but even in the meantime it's a much easier road for a chance to get to the Finals.

I think for the good of parity and balance in the NBA, they should eliminate free agency. Every team is allowed to trade players or release players but they can't lose them to other teams for less money. If a superstar is unhappy he cries and demands a trade anyway. If the NBA doesn't try something their popularity will fade quickly as everyone will believe it to be a league full of millionaire cry babies who can't even play every game of a "grueling " 82 game season.

The amount of good players that won't ever make a Finals in their prime because of LeBron and the Warriors is crazy

There are some. Dan Gilbert comes to mind. Pacers have gone into the tax before in the Miller era but not something Herb Simon likes doing.

But yeah.. I was only saying that as a hope that it happens lol.
