    Re: 2017 Offseason Thread

I really don't think the mountain-top is as high as people are mounding it up to be. The Cavs should have won 2 games this series and they weren't doing anything special defensively and without any type of consistent facilitator outside of LeBron.

It will be interesting to see how the Celtics tool up this summer and if the Wizards can gather an actual bench and legitimate big-man in the next couple of seasons. I think they're the two biggest threats to the Cavs next season.

CLE and SA are the only two teams that will stand a chance the next two years. CLE's biggest issue was their depth and bench, there's a huge difference between GSW and CLE there. You can't be minus-a-bagillion every time LeBron takes a three minute rest.

Who knows if CLE will be able to improve their 2nd unit significantly though. If CP3 get to SAS then the WCF should be very interesting next Spring.

Spurs will have to look at replacing Mills and maybe Simmons.

And Dedmon and maybe Ginobli's minutes.

              Some tidbits from Woj:

              - Celtics top two targets this offseason are Hayward and Blake Griffin.
              - If CP3 doesn't re-sign quickly, Clippers may move on; Spurs, Heat, Lakers, and Rockets are expected to pursue him if he leaves.
              - LeBron heading to LA next year is "very much in play"
              - $11-13 million per year for Tony Snell is realistic, something like 4 years, $50 million
              - Lakers are "looking hard" at Josh Jackson at #2.
              - Kings won't trade 5 & 10 to move up, but could trade 5 and a lesser asset.

                $50 for Snell? Gross.

Yeah, it makes me nervous as hell. It's insane how much better he was this year than his previous three seasons though.

TS% jumped up 12% this year; his 2 point % jumped up by 17%. Only 10.5 points per 36 minutes but he was insanely good in his role as a 3 and D guy this year. His field goal percentage on DUNKS AND LAYUPS increased by 20 ****ING PERCENT this year lol. How is that even possible?

The entire Eastern Conference is on their knees praying that Lebron to LA story comes to fruition next year.

Also, when does Woj and the rest of The Vertical crew make the ESPN move official?

You know that LBJ to LA line was just a wink for ESPN.

LBJ has a clear path to the Finals in the Eastern conference. I'm not sure why he would leave.

Griffin would be cool simply to stick it to Doc. The recent health issues are a concern though.

Except Woj isn't the first person I have heard say it. When I hear it from one guy with little clout, I shrug it off. But hearing it from Woj as well, I put a little more faith in it. Odds go from 2% to 5%.

I have very little interest in Blake and it has nothing to do with his actual play. I think he's actually exactly what the celts need on the court. He just can't stay on it.
