If Phil actually goes through with this BS, it might just be the last straw for me. The fact that these trade conversations are even being had is utterly stupid.

Cap number is $99M next season, down from the $102m that was projected earlier.Comment

Re: 2017 Offseason Thread
To me that just sounds like "well we love the guy, but if we can bring in the next LeBron James and a top 4 pick with it why not??"
I think he's listening to offers out of pure curiosity because teams are calling, but unless Boston throws the house at them and they can make it a 3 team trade and land a proven young guy like Booker in the deal with it then nothing is going to happen.
But it's the Knicks so..

Re: 2017 Offseason Thread
Do y'all really think getting a top 4 pick for Poringod is a bad move by Phil? Especially if he gets back future assets as well? Y'all act like this dude is an All NBA player or something.

"The Vertical
Knicks have made calls about Kristaps Porzingis, aiming for a top-four pick to get Josh Jackson. - @WojVerticalNBA "
I think Josh Jackson could be a good player if he can improve his offense and become a two-way player. But no way I would trade Porzingis for him. Porzingis can do it all at a high level and hasn't even gotten the chance to be a #1 option playing with Melo. That would be immense pressure for Josh Jackson to be a superstar in NY right away.
Why would their be pressure to be a super star right away if KP isn't a superstar? I don't understand the overblowing of his game right now.
Y'all can even go back and check, I've been on the Porzingod bandwagon the past two seasons and talked him up in the game threads nearly every time I've watched him play... but this is going overboard, people are acting like this dude is untouchable when he hasn't even proven that he's made the jump to an all star level player, much less superstar or franchise altering status.

Re: 2017 Offseason Thread
He does have All-NBA potential though. Bron, Chris Paul and DeAndre Jordan ain't gonna be making All-NBA teams forever.

Re: 2017 Offseason Thread
I mean he's been pretty good and he's 22. It's not crazy to think he will get to all-NBA level. Or at least all-star level. And if it's just to get into the top 4 to get Jackson like the reports are saying, I can definitely see why Knick fans would be upset. Seems very high risk/eh reward to me.Comment

"Potential", so do Jackson, Tatum, Fox, Smith...
He's not even at a Karl Towns level, much less AD or something. I'm sure he could make a couple All NBA squads at some point, but he's not untouchable, he hasn't shown anything as of yet that he can be an untouchable type of guy.

Re: 2017 Offseason Thread
Hayward (and Hill) could be staying. Consequently this might mean Ingles is gone, unless we want to go into the luxury tax.

Re: 2017 Offseason Thread
Some beg to differ, when it comes to Boston. I think I saw we only needed something around $4M for a max slot after the $99m cap number came it. So we would still only have to trade Crowder/Bradley.
