Don't be using stats to spin Deron's play last year.

That man was cold trash and has been since he put on a Nets jersey. #hatehatehate

Cleveland was substantially worse with him on the court, and the only real benefit he added was he could hit open shots. But in the playoffs when he wasn’t doing that he was worthless. Wasn’t there a stat in the finals or something showing that the was statistically speaking the worst player in finals history or something crazy along those lines? I can’t remember exactly what is was right now.

It’s hard to compare them now because Cleveland has gotten off to such a bad start with everyone’s numbers look ****ty. But with Rose, assuming he’ll be coming off the bench, you can actually play him as more of a 6th, 7th man role, rather than a 10th guy. He can get to the rim and the free throw line meaning you don’t have to only give him minutes when LeBron is on the floor, which was the situation Williams was in because he didn’t offer anything other than spot up shooting from LeBron kick-outs.

In a situation where say Kyrie was in foul trouble they couldn’t really just stick Deron in the game and play him for 20 minutes. They’d work him in some, work Shump in some, go without a point completely and let LeBron bring it up, etc. Rose is a guy they should be able to leave on the floor for some minutes if they are forced to.

I might be wrong, I guess we’ll see once he actually assumes his bench role. But trust me I definitely agree that he’s just not a good player. Hell I was saying that about him back when he won the MVP even, so I definitely don’t have much praise for him other than to say he’s more reliable for them than Deron.. which isn’t saying much anyways.

Sure Deron couldn't play 36 a night anymore, but nobody expected him to. We're talking about Rose coming off the bench too, aren't we? Deron was giving Cleveland 20ish minutes a game; you think Rose will really play much more than that once Isaiah is healthy?

I don't know. I guess my point is we're really just comparing **** to ****. I don't think Rose helps Cleveland in any way really; at least not substantially more than Deron did.

And in NYC, I've been hearing a lot of talk about the Knicks. I can't remember hearing this much positive talk about the Knicks in years.
I know about Carmelo's ejection and Westbrook's weird one from last night. What's the 3rd?

Steph Curry one the other day. He got a F1 on a drive to the rim. His off arm made a natural movement in my opinion. I posted it the other day.

Ohh gotcha. I kept thinking it was 3 against OKC.

That Steph one was so bad; looks like they adopted the NCAA flagrant rules where any contact to the head, even if incidental/inadvertent = a flagrant

Steph used his off arm to shield the defender which often is called an offensive foul anyways. It was upgrade because he hit his face, which I’m ok with. But didn’t they call his a tech rather than a flagrant? That I don’t understand.

Big Al is out tonight against the Lakers due to concussion protocol. Looks like Theis should get more minutes and maybe it's finally time to let the Dancing Bear out of his cage too.

I'm more on the natural basketball move. Or better yet a normal move. The Steph one, everyone does... That means defenders could look for the move put their face in the spot all the time. Crazy. But when your trying to move forward natural on hand has to go back to balance the body.

These are bad in my opinion.
                      I don't like this one

                      No defending this one either.

To this one below has to either be a offense foul or let them play. A F1 for below makes no sense in my opinion. What is the offensive players suppose to when he's trying to keep the ball away from the reaching defender.

All they are doing is treating offense the same as defense, which is something that has probably needed to happen for awhile. If you try to contest a shot and smack me in the face, even though a shot contest is a natural move, it’s going to be called. This is just the reverse of that. Steph is making a natural move swinging his arm back to shield off the defender, he connects with is face. I don’t have any issue with them equally the two out. People complain all the time that they keep taking more and more away from the defenders, now they have something to better balance that and even more people are complaining lol.

I really don’t have a big issue with it. You hit someone in the face on defense it’s a flagrant, you hit them in the face on offense call that a flagrant as well and move on. I think the more the year goes one we’ll see inadvertent plays not called nearly as much, but in Steph and Melo’s case if you’re going to deliberately make contact you are going to get whistled if it’s to the face even if it wasn’t intended for the face. Same as defensive calls.
