I agree with some of ya'll, we can hate these athletes off the court as people, but when it matters most for this sport, they are some of the best at what they do.
I agree. And I think alot of people attack Kobe as a person every chance they get, because they can't attack his game... its damn good. However, if you are unsatisfied w/ this post because its speaking on kobe as a person I'm sorry. The post is mainly about him saying ray is good b/c Kobe Bryant motivated him, and his respons to Nas. We're not exactly going to discuss Kobe's jumpshot in this thread. However there are many other threads where such discussions are being held, I suggest the official lakers thread. Alot of people say all that matters is what he does on the court. If thats the case, post in the threads that talk about what he does on the court, dont come into the ones about his beef w/ nas, beef w/ shaq, his trial, etc. and if you do, dont say what he does on the court is all that matters, then try and defend what he does off the court.

Kobe didnt go for the ball after the block. He just let it roll by him while he trash talked Allen.

Rashard Lewis pick the ball up and dunked it with Kobe's back to him.

    IMO thats pretentious
I agree, but you should know by now that rule #1 is "nothing is Kobe's fault". Markobe has already stated that the beef was 100% brought on by ray allen. While I think Ray perpetuated it, I'm not gonna say Kobe was an innocent lamb in the rivalry and that ray is 100 percent at faullt.

No, I'm not sure if he does anything for the community... but I have a suspicion that you do. Sorry, I don't follow Kobe like that, I was just telling you what Nas' complaints were, never said they were right.

anyways . i dont defend kobe likes he my dad , i like him cuz hes the best player on my fav. team , if he wasnt a laker i sure as hell wouldnt like him .id respect his game , cuz he has mad game . , kinda like a kb fan by default as ive heard someone else here say that before . anyways

im not gonna try to justify what he said , i agree with some of what he says not all , like i said ppl should just get over it and move on , he made me a mistake , he doesnt need ppl reminding him all the time .

i agree with what u said i dont think nas shouldve went after kobe , nas has a point , but i dont think it was right .
I respect all of that. Aside from you, what I dont think people are getting is that im saying Nas is wrong and so is Kobe. Theyre only hearing the latter and attacking the hell outta me.

The thing is, people aren't mad that he's switching it up for the better, theyre mad because he's switching for the worse. He's trying to portray a more bad boy image, ice, tats, throwbacks, the cockiness andarrogance, "u used to live your life cool, just like michael/ Now you rock ice too just like I do"

Oh, my bad. I thought you were talking about something else. I was referring to how, on and off the court, he is now acting differently to regain his good image. During interviews, he'll refuse to talk about Shaq/Phil like Phil/Shaq do about him. On the court, he'll be off the bench every time a teammate makes a good play. When a player from the opposing team gets knocked down, he'll extend an arm to help them up. Those type of little things.

It's just that I've heard people (not necessarily on this board) come out and knocking on Kobe for trying "too hard" to be a good guy. I think after his trial, he is trying to get away from the bad boy image.

The cockiness, arrogance, or whatever you want to call it will always be there and I'm glad. That same on-court "cockiness" is what makes teams afraid of him having the ball late in the game. I love his "I won't miss" attitude. Yes, it has gone a little too far at times, but this season he is doing a great job of keeping that confidence under control, and at the same time bringing it out onto the court when he needs to. Doc Rivers said it best, the scariest thing about Kobe (on the court) is that he is not afraid. Paul Pierce has the same confidence and that's why he is one of the better clutch players in the league. KG is developing this "cockiness" also and he showed how he wasn't going to give the ball up with the game on the line. It got him the MVP award. I always felt that KG's one weakness is that when the game is on the line, he does not demand the ball and take over, but now he's learned to that.

Re: Kobe speaks on Ray Allen, Shaq, and NaS (a must read)

Hating Kobe is the flavour of the month right now. Let the man live his life...Kobe is right that no man has the right to judge him, let alone someone who contradicts themselves as much as Nas. I'm a huge Nas fan, but I can not listen to that song...its just a cry for attention to me, Kobe didn't do anything to himor his family...he made one error in judgement and his entire legacy has been tarnished...Kobe is trying to move on, why can't America let him?

The interview last night w/ Shaq was hilarious, dude has so much hate in his blood towards Kobe...and for what...b/c Kobe put his business out there...so what. Shaq does pay off broads...that's why each of his BM's has their own mansion and cars that SHAQ PAYS FOR...that is 'hush money' ladies and gentleman, Shaq was upset b/c his secrets were brought to light.

Phil Jackson, is just looking to sell books...nothing more, nothing less. I would choose a franchise player like Kobe over a egomaniacl coach would couldn't deliver the title anyday...Kobe was the only reason why the Lakers ever made it to the Finals, and the reason the won the ONE GAME they did.

I can see you're a die-hard Kobe fan, but no, I disagree. He was not the only reason why the Lakers got to the finals, the supporting cast stepped up big time. And I do believe if he had passed the ball more to Shaq, the Lakers (as much as I hate to admit it) would have had a better chance of beating the Pistons.

Derek Fisher's clutch shots, Kareem Rush's performance in the playoffs, all were key factors to getting to the finals. Kobe didn't have a great playoff run, IMHO but the supporting cast stepped up.

i agree , not that they wouldve won if he played right ,but i think it wouldve been close .

imo kobe wanted to lose in the finals(call me an idiot ,whatever , i honestly believe it) , which is kinda sad , but hey , maybe hes changed. i just felt like he didnt care.
