Since we're talking basketball, I'll guess I'll comment on this.

Baron Davis - The Hornets played the Lakers earlier this year, where Bryant asked Rudy to give him the Assignment of BD from the start to the end of the game. Kobe did a GREAT job of keeping the BD out of offense and that was a big reason that the Lakers got ahead by 33 points. In the 4th quarter, Kobe went to the bench, and with Tierre Brown guarding Davis, Baron started to make some shots and got to the foul line a lot. That's basically the only time BD was offensively strong. He eventually finished 5-20.

Tracy McGrady - The greatest defense that I've ever seen Kobe play is against T-mac in that comeback game. People have argued that Kobe only guarded T-Mac for that quarter, and was resting up and all that, but I still think that Kobe's defense had something to do with it. It's no coincidence that T-Mac scored 35 in the first 3 quarters when Kobe wasn't guarding him, and was shut down when Kobe did guard him.

Allen Iverson - Allen Iverson did torch somebody, but it wasn't Kobe. Remember? "Luuuueeeeeee." Tyronne Lue and Derek Fisher drew the assignment of AI.

That's only a Kobe fans opinion, because by the time Kobe was done coasting the game Mac was tired. What did Kobe take like 1 shot in the 1st half?

The truth is the sorry Magic team shouldnt have even been that close to a star packed lakers squad.

Kobe full of fuel had lots to do with what happened, but a guy scoring 32 or was it 36 and just at a triple double, I hardly call that being shut down.

Reverse the roles that game and you can see what I mean. Heck, even with this team Kobe comes up flat at the end of games, now image him carrying the Magic.

Dont know about AI or BD though. I can say the top guards average no less than 26 on Kobe everytime they meet with the exception on Mac who gets an average of like 30+.

That one is for old times sake D4K.... I'm really done with this Mac Kobe thing

kdre i know it would greatly hurt you to say anything great about kobe, but kobe did make the all-defensive first team. And this is coaches voting not some newsreporter who just watches highlights. Obviously kobe must be doing something right, because he got enough votes from coaches. I don't see t-mac anywhere on the list. Oh thats right its because all the coaches have their heads up kobe's ***. I agree they are both really really good players, and that its pretty pointless to say one is better then the other without starting a war, but how can you say kobe doesn't play good defense.
Just wait till Arsenal moves into Emirates Stadium.

Actually, the Pistons sort of screwed the entire Lakers team as a whole in the Finals.

no doubt kobe played a huge role in the loss, but it didn't help that no one besides shaq could make a shot

When you screw your teammates, even the hot ones in the games, there's no way a "team" can get in a rythym to help, especially when you refuse to pass and jack up fade a way 3's and try to split and entire team to get into the lane while your teammates stand there looking for a pass that aint comin
