That's what makes the most sense, especially if they do get Kawhi in some sort of deal. Ingram is a better replacement for the Spurs, and Kuzma is a better fit to play off Bron and Kawhi.. Works best for both sides IMO.

Randle is interesting, I think he would play well with that group, but if that lands them Kawhi I think he would need to go out rather than Kuzma still. Maybe there are other options outside of Kawhi they are exploring. Who knows at this point.

Lakers are going to resign Randle. And I don’t think they’re getting rid of any of their young guys. It seems like no one is taking into consideration the financial impact of having Kawhi with Lebron.

Lebron is making 35+ million... with the current Lakers roster, they have enough to resign Randle... factor in next season when KCP, McGee, and Lance come off, including a possible Deng release, Lakers have the potential for about 30M... (this is without getting rid of anybody btw)... let’s say the Lakers use that money to sign Kawhi...

Eventually... within these 4 years... Lonzo is going to need an extension. Ingram, Kuzma, and Josh Hart will need extensions... but they won’t have any money to keep their talent because all their money is tied up to Kawhi and Lebron. I’m sure someone is going to say that’s why you trade those players for Kawhi, but I still think in the long run it doesn’t make sense.

Look at where the Warriors are now, currently 6 deep, (Death Lineup + Livingston) and then a bunch of “trying to make it’s”... they’re going to lose Draymond because they simply can’t afford it. I wouldn’t want this problem.. even after 3 titles.

Lakers have been patient this long, and I expect them to continue building from within.

Randle is waiting on the wings right now... he's kind of a just in case at the moment.

Perhaps, but on the other hand if any team is willing to dip into the luxury tax to build a team like that to compete it's the Lakers.

From what I've heard it's because he felt that he was never last fully healthy and never ready to get back on the court. Even though the Spurs medical team cleared him to play back in January/December.
