That is all contingent on him not sitting out with another "injury" or to try to force a trade.

Rotten fruit go in the swap bucket. This man sounds like he's not putting on a Spurs Jersey even if his agent forces him.

What about a rebuilding team with hopes that Boogie likes the new city...or the fact that the team believed in him. Maybe he would be loyal to that.

That's the real joke. These GMs get paid money to fantasize about attracting LeBron when everyone knows where he's going or to have cap space for Durant like his free agency is actually free. Owners should be yelling at their GMs right now for this.

What's worse, they had Woj on and talked to him about the move and he says that while the injury and salary cap space played a big part in the market being down for Boogie, the reality was also that there were teams with space that did not want him in their locker room and in their organization.

There weren't a whole lot of teams with salary cap space left and the ones that are left have no damn business talking about not wanting a guy of his talent on their team. You suck for a reason. Decisions like this is just one of those reasons.

Around 5 am in Vegas, he walked out onto his balcony thinking things over because he had wondered how his injury would affect his free agency back around the All-Star break when it happened. Says that he called his agent and they started talking about different scenarios and one of the scenarios that came up was Golden State. So early in the morning he called Bob Myers (Warriors GM), talked to him, Bob of course said he was shocked that Boogie called them and was interested in taking the MLE. DeMarcus says he then spoke with Steph, KD and Draymond and their excitement about having him on the team "lifted his spirits" and it surprised him how excited they were and it made him really want to come to Golden State even more. So around 8 pm he called Golden State back and told them he was coming. Spears said DeMarcus called it "his chess move, his ace."

The CBA has protections, so he'll play whether he likes it or not. Unless they find a trade offer they like (I doubt one comes at this point).

As crazy as it sounds, I'd rather they lose him for nothing next offseason - even if it sets the franchise back 4 - 5 years - than taking another team's garbage contracts or "promising" players (unless named Brown, Tatum or Simmons).

So how much flack should Magic catch for not taking that chance and signing McGee instead. LAL has “reportedly” had mutual interest between he and them for a few years now. And like someone mentioned before, he’s literally the one player in the league who hurts GS in a way that they don’t have an answer.

That's mostly likely going to happen.... There haven't been many players that live after this injury. Actually no one has... He'll probably get a ring out of this deal at best. But even if he comes back to 75% DMC. That's still pretty damn good. The Warriors best center was Andrew Bogut.

Agreed, but he could likely hurt his long - term value if he plays poorly or doesn't look like the same player pre - injury.

It'll be interesting to see what offers he'll get next offseason.

                        He shouldn't get any

He got a star in LeBron and made more moves after that

I know speaking for the Nets, since we had the space to go after him, I doubt he would’ve considered us anyway since we’re still in Year 3 of this ground up rebuild.

The other thing is I’m not sure he would’ve moved the needle for us as far if the team as a whole got better and if he would be a good fit in our locker room with our culture. So I can’t really fault Marks for not going after him knowing our situation where realistically we’re still a few years away.

I can’t speak for the other teams that had cap space though that passed on him though.
