Re: 2018 Off-Season Thread
I know that a lot of people feel like the non elite teams should have taken a chance on Cousins, but many teams, even if it keeps them mired in mediocrity or worse, simply aren't going to take a chance on players who are both injured and have been divisive forces in organizations. They'd rather piss off(not on purpose) their fan bases by overpaying for lesser talents who are model citizens.Jordan Mychal Lemos

Do this today: Instead of $%*#!@& on a game you're not going to play or movie you're not going to watch, say something good about a piece of media you're excited about.
Do the same thing tomorrow. And the next. Now do it forever.Comment

Re: 2018 Off-Season Thread
As someone was alluding to earlier, we need to be careful about asking about changing the CBA off of an irrational moment.
Lest we forget how the owners were charging high prices for tickets and claiming bankruptcy every summer afterward.
They lowball players whenever they feel like it play their fanbase telling them to be patient knowing good and well they're never going to really take chances to be winners.Comment

Anywho my sauces are telling me this is a infiltration mission by Boogie set up by my new homie Bron, it's just a pit stop before coming to LA next year with another big name player and a couple playbooks. Y'all better keep that same energy next year [emoji41]

Re: 2018 Off-Season Thread
Yeah talking about changing the CBA and calling for a hard cap is awful. A hard cap wouldn’t have stopped Boogie from taking a minimum salary.
The NHL has a hard cap and it’s awful and nobody gives a **** about the NHL outside of hardcore hockey fans. You think people are pissed with the NBA cause of the Warriors let them put in a hard cap and watch as their team wins a championship and is forced to be broken up within the next year and a half of that title because of that garbage *** cap and see how much they like that **** then. Worse yet, when the Warriors still stack their team by everybody taking small deals to fit under the cap or flocking to States with no state taxes so they can recoup money they’d give up to play together. Hard cap is a nightmare scenario to me.

Re: 2018 Off-Season Thread
If I ran a 2K league and the Warriors user tried to pull this he'd be looking for a new league lol
If some kid came on the 2K boards saying how he stacked his team like this I'd probably ridicule him

Re: 2018 Off-Season Thread
I don’t think anybody can put any blame on the Warriors. At all. If they have a decision between signing guys like McGee, Noel or multiple time All Star and former franchise player DeMarcus Cousins. They’re gonna go with the obvious one. Not to mention it gives them a 5 who can stretch the floor. If Cousins plays this season, I wouldn’t be surprised at all to see him put up a points and rebounds double double with 6 or 7 assists for the season, giving him huge offers in the next off season.
I’m just not a fan of the decision from Boogie himself. I’d probably do the same just for the ring but staying in New Orleans just seemed like the thing to do. Is he expecting to go back next year and for their organization to be fine with what he did?
It could be a positive for NO anyway. I think they were much better when he got hurt and they relied more on Jrue and AD.

I'm sure DMC will confirm it here soon enough but I have a hard time believing it was NO offers....more like him not hearing what he wanted to hear and subsequently giving the league the finger.....which I dont blame him for...

Yes, the Lakers couldn't sign Rondo for $9 mil without renouncing Randle. Renouncing Randle never had anything to do with Cousins.Last edited by Yeah...THAT Guy; 07-03-2018, 09:32 AM.NFL: Bills

Mike Scott signs a one-year deal with The Clippers.
Another good one Ernie.
Instead of fans getting pissy about the players making decisions for themselves maybe they should direct some of their ire to their team's GM.

Are you talking about politically correct yes men?
Because I sincerely hope you aren't talking about off the court issues that have nothing to do with basketball. There's a reason he's still loved in Sacramento (oh he'll get booed NOW just off principle for going to the Warriors. But it won't be malicious) and it had everything to do with him being a model citizen, giving back to the community/charity work/visiting hospitals, and actually caring about his fans and Kings fans off the court.
Also, let's not act like this ain't the first time NBA franchises and locker rooms have dealt with abrasive and divisive personalities because the players in question were supremely talented.Comment

Re: 2018 Off-Season Thread
Having said all that previously, I could understand why teams wouldn't want him. but then you end up with this situation and you have no one but yourselves to blame honestly.
This article sheds more light.
DeMarcus Cousins had no offers as of Monday morning and instructed his agent to start calling teams, including the Warriors.
So yeah, Pelicans lowballed him. They weren't even willing to pay him Julius Randle money it's looking like. Hell, no one even wanted him at TREVOR ARIZA MONEY.
Bruh. they didn't even give him a counter offer, nothing.
Good on Cousins.Comment
