Pacers definitely don't want Cousins. They just let Lance walk when they didn't have to. He was on a team deal making less than 3 million and told him to kick rocks.

You think they were about to pay Cousins?
I bet if GM's knew he was going to end up with Golden State for 5.3 million they would up do things different and up the offers they have. This not only guarantees them a championship this year it gives them insurance if Klay or Durant leave in FA. I don't see this happening but They could even use Cousins as a trade piece with some draft picks and get a younger player. The Pelicans also( I think) could have done a sign and trade with other teams.

I feel like no one should be upset at Cousins at all, or really be that upset with their front office either. Most teams are already in too much disarray to take on such a high risk proposition.

Do this today: Instead of $%*#!@& on a game you're not going to play or movie you're not going to watch, say something good about a piece of media you're excited about.

Do the same thing tomorrow. And the next. Now do it forever.

I read NO had talked a sign-and-trade with Portland but the talks hit a roadblock since Nurkic and Cousins share an agent.

Where's an updated list of available cap numbers? Spotrac has Philly 26 mil over (I'm assuming because of cap holds) and Indiana at 14 over. In any case, do you bring him in, next to a center that you already believe in, and start him at the 4? Was he willing to come off the bench? Is it worth disrupting your future plans for a chance to have a center coming off an Achilles injury for 1 year? I just don't think it's so simple. It's just a really weird situation.

I'm a fan of the Pelicans and I'm not mad at Cousins. I just feel like it was the perfect storm for him with his injury and teams not having a lot of cap space. He might as well go get that ring and check that off of his career to-do list, then worry about getting paid the next summer.

Wouldn't surprise me if they're looking to see how good they can get with Mirotic having a full year in their system. he did great things for thier floor spacing, even with Rondo out there.

But despite that, Rondo freed things up so much for Jrue on offense where he was able to take advantage of mismatches more easily to get to the rim, or take smaller guards to the low post area when they though it was a good idea to rest their best wing player on offense by having them "guard" Rondo.

I fully expect them to be worst this year, sad to say.

I can assure you if the Pelicans lowballed Cousins because they’re banking on a full year with Mirotic being a good thing for them they’ve ****ed up. That dude is the poster child for inconsistency and expecting him to step up and play a bigger role is a mistake. They better pay one of those guys on the team to punch him in the face, cause Bobby is here, he can’t knock his game into him next season.

Exactly and the teams that did have cap space either are rebuilding and don't need Boogie for one year or don't have the huge need for him.

If I am one of the teams stuck like Heat, Trailblazers, Wizards etc I would have took the risk on a sign and trade with him. As far as the updated cap sheets here is the list https://earlybirdrights.com/salary-cap/

Pacers didn’t go after him because all Pritchard talks about is finding good guys that fit the locker room and he’s not going to risk disrupting that and the new “culture” he’s built by bringing in Cousins and the supposed baggage that comes along with him. Not that I think he’s right in doing that though... I would’ve taken Cousins for 5 mil in a heartbeat.
