Re: 2018 Off-Season Thread
Love Indy getting O’Quinn, but wish we had signed him for longer than 1 year. He’s regarded as one of the best backup bigs in the league, no? So why not lock him up long term? Unless he didn’t want that. Regardless we’re about to go into next summer with like 3 players on contract....

Re: 2018 Off-Season Thread
Why in the world would they wait? So they can develop mediocre talents like Ingram and Ball?
Nah man, Bron works best with shooters and defenders. None of his PGs can shoot or defend. Ingram cannot defend.
I mean, Bron is still great and the Lakers will be good despite it because LeBron is great. But they are not legit contenders this year. And I'm not sure waiting for legit talent to drop into their laps is a great strategy.
I like mediocre talents who put up 10 7 7 in their rookie year or mediocre talents who put up 16 5 4 on 47% shooting in their second year. I think their flaws are well documented but they are far from mediocre.
OJ how mediocre are they?Last edited by Vni; 07-06-2018, 03:19 PM.Comment

I love this article so much more than that one that I waited around for all day on the 4th last year.
Favors is the man. Love the subtle shade at Trey Lyles near the end of it. Also tweeted out "Thank You Utah" when he posted the article LOL that's some good ****

Re: 2018 Off-Season Thread
Clint Capela's meeting with Houston reportedly did not go well, he's considering taking his qualifying offer to become an unrestricted free agent next year.
Kevin Pritchard on Lance Stephenson:
"At the end of the day, Lance gave us some great years. We love Lance. We love Lance on the court, we love Lance off the court. Sometimes, he was the best player on our team and sometimes he was the best player on the other team.""There was an opportunity for him to come back," Pritchard said. "We understand that he really wanted to go with the Lakers, we really understand that. It's sort of a dream. I think when LeBron calls you up and says, 'I want you,' it's hard for him to turn that down."Comment

Re: 2018 Off-Season Thread
Just so i get this right
Tony Parker has been deliberating for days about leaving the Spurs and talking with management, then signed a deal with the Hornets after talking to them
....but all we've gotten from ESPN is gossip about Kawhi with their sources?
That's a shamefogawd.Comment

He’s said that exact same thing before lol. Pretty much Lance in a nutshell though.

Re: 2018 Off-Season Thread
Ingram is still like 40% trash lol. But I think he's the guy with the most potential as a lead scorer and I think could jump to a 20 a game guy next season. To think he's only 20 years old, he's the guy I would trying to be trading for if I was one of the "trade rumor" teams floating around. To me he's a great get for the Spurs. When it became clear that Boston wasn't going to trade Brown or Tatum I think Ingram is the next best asset they could get around the league. He'll never be Kawhi Leonard, but they aren't going to get a Kawhi Leonard in return. And the more **** that comes out the less chances of a Melo type deal as well.
I'd like to see Ingram next to LeBron this year. According to Zach Lowe (lol you can judge how reliable he is) he says LeBron believes Ingram can be an all star next to him next season. It'll be interesting to see how the added play-makers, mainly LeBron and always having one of Rondo/Lonzo on the floor will benefit Ingram's game. His 3 point shooting has already jumped 10 percentage points, and per synergy he's went from the 76th percentile among spot-up players to 43rd.
We've got to remember at 20 years old Paul George was scoring 7 points a night, Kawhi 12ppg at 22 and year 3, Jimmy Butler 13 at 24 in year 3, Jaylen Brown this year at 21 with 14ppg, Greek Freak 12ppg at 20 in year 2... So the potential for him to make the jump is still there, especially with LeBron lessening that burden. I think it's clear those pre-draft KD comparisons are way off base, but I would be shocked if he wasn't a 25 a night guy by his mid 20's. Defensively he needs to come along, but he's almost in the same position as KD was where if he can just learn to use his length he doesn't have to be great at every other aspect of defense to make an impact.Last edited by ojandpizza; 07-06-2018, 03:59 PM.Comment

Re: 2018 Off-Season Thread
Lance actually took that quote to heart lol. I’m pretty sure Pritchard said it in a joking manner bruh. Someone needs to send him that gif of his blatant travel in the playoffs though lol

Re: 2018 Off-Season Thread
I don't think Lonzo is mediocre at all and I think he had an underrated rookie season. I also think his shooting will improve, he has confidence in his shot and has always been a capable shooter. Regardless of his percentages he's a player that doesn't pass up the open looks and therefor keeps the defense honest. He's a difference maker on the court and the Lakers were a better team with him on the floor last year. His rookie numbers are nearly identical to Jason Kidd's, and he has the potential to be a versatile and long defender in the league as well. Quick hands, decent mechanics, just needs to get stronger and get that experience. He's the top rated defender on their team and led them in steals this year as a rookie. I was on Lonzo's side all season this year, Kuzma too, but had my fair share of poking fun at Ingram and Randle.
