Re: 2018 Off-Season Thread
LeBron signs with the Lakers and we start getting all these takes 🤦🏽*♂️
Just because our young guys haven't had a Mitchell, Tatum or Simmons year yet doesn't make them trash nor does it mean we should mortgage our future to build a super team when we can do both.
The three guys I mentioned also had better pieces around them, can our young guys get a year under their belt with a talent like LeBron who'll make it easier for them or nah?
We should be in a rush to add shooters a second star and an enforcer just to still get spanked by the Dubs and have to here how Bron has no help. And when he bolts after three years be stuck watching one of our young guys we traded away producing for another team, yeah no thanks!
The icing on the cake for this off season would be if Money Melo becomes #SnakeMelo #EasywayoutMelo and sign with the dub for whatever they got left.
Same dudes calling him trash now will complain how they got another all star and how it's unfair [emoji848]
You guys want super teams or want to complain about super teams its getting hard to tell these days

Re: 2018 Off-Season Thread
Wright explains that a big reason for the gap between*Leonard*and the team is because of the perception held by Kawhi’s group that the Spurs are too controlling. However, it seems that Kawhi’s Uncle Dennis may not be the best person to evaluate how controlling someone is. Wright told a previously unshared anecdote about All Star Weekend in New Orleans in January to illustrate that point:
Let me tell you a quick story. At the All Star game in New Orleans a few years ago. Kawhi and his people are at the hotel, which is 3 blocks away from the arena. So the Spurs are like, the security people are like, ‘We need to get you out at this time for us to be able to make it to the game on time, because it’s gonna take 3 hours to get 3 blocks, basically.’ Kawhi’s people, namely Uncle Dennis, said, ‘No, we’re not doing that because the Spurs are trying to control this situation, this is what we’re going to do,’ So they decide to leave when Uncle Dennis decides to go and they get stuck in traffic!....You know what ended up happening? These guys ended up paying the hotel to hold the car and they walked, through Mardi Gras crowds, to the arena. They had Kawhi put his hood up and they walked through those crowds to the arena.
Wright makes the argument that, although Dennis sees the Spurs as a dictatorial entity, he has no frame of reference when it comes to how the 29 other teams in the NBA do business. On the subject of the injury that kept Kawhi out all season and the effect Dennis had on the situation, Wright says he made it worse:
“The major component of all this is Uncle Dennis cause he sort of fans the flames. Even the Spurs will tell you behind the scenes, ‘hey did we get this right? Well we don’t know,’ because they never got a chance to go through their rehab process long enough to know whether what they were doing worked. A lot of people don’t know this, but the Spurs gave Kawhi and his camp control of his injury situation, they let them take over on August 8th of last year. People do not realize that.”

Re: 2018 Off-Season Thread
I don’t necessarily think he’s a diva, to me a diva likes to make it known that he’s frustrated and will start calling out aspects of the team. If Kyrie was really frustrated for as long as they made it out to be I think he did a good job of keeping it in.
I do think he’s probably got some of the thinnest skin in the league though. Seems like anything and everything gets to him and he overanalyzes it to the point where he’s trying to see so hard how he’s been wronged that his reaction to that actually puts him in the wrong.
Spoiler
A lot of stuff in the podcast did surface, but I think most chalked it up to being an massive exaggeration. I know I just shrugged it off and chalked it up at your typical frustrations that every team goes through but something gets “leaked” every time they lose a couple games.
This also seemed more than that, and rather than “leaks” it’s from what you would think would he creditable sources. Kyrie seemed mad LeBron came back to begin with, said “we don’t need him” yet they literally went from lottery to finals. Makes me question Kyrie’s judgment a bit. Didn’t like Brown, didn’t like Lue, I didn’t listen and just read the notes but did it mention Blatt? We already knew he challenged Lue’s coaching, went against his offense, stalled pace when he wanted to be a fast tempo approach. Refused to move the ball rapidly when they had passes zipping and hitting 3’s at historic rates. Apparently didn’t talk to teammates for stretches, didn’t like them because they fit LeBron’s strengths more than his, didn’t like management, etc. I can understand an ego clash with him and Bron, that happens, but this dude from top to bottom seemingly hated everything about the team and they were competing for championships. Thought about leaving after they won even. Not a good look in my opinion.
It’s hard to image what exactly he sees from his perspective. I get maybe he wants the attention, he wants all the glory. But the dude led the team in usage, led the team in shot attempts, broke plays whenever he wanted to get his one-on-ones, took a big chunk of all of their clutch shots, got to be the go to 4th quarter scorer.. it literally was like he got all the stuff Kobe wanted when Kobe was with Shaq and it still wasn’t enough for him.

Re: 2018 Off-Season Thread
I think he’s a great fit for this Kings group that’s coming up together, I don’t think I would match if I’m Chicago. It will suck for them to lose him, but I don’t think are quite in the position yet to know what they for sure need and what they need to put that much money towards. Give this rebuild another year or so, it’ll be easier to gauge where you need to throw your money and maybe land you a bigger fish at that.

Re: 2018 Off-Season Thread
I’m just glad it was the Kings that made the offer and not the hawks. That’s a tough call if I’m the bulls on what to do if they do then that means they traded Butler for kris Dunn plus moving up from 13 to like 7
