I think it’s safe to say Clarkson and Hood are both much better than they showed in the playoffs this year, I’m anticipating seeing what they look like away from any sort of pressure. Sexton as well, I think he’s going to be a really good player going forward. Cavs could push for the playoffs this year, does JR Smith even have a role anymore? I’m sure he has no trade value but they need to move on from that, maybe even agree to a buyout or stretch him. I wouldn’t really want him around the newer guys, I don’t think he will demonstrate good habits for them.
I just want to see Cedi get some damn minutes man. Also, in hindsight, I think it’s a good thing for this team that Kyrie moved on as well. Gives them a bit of a clean slate and I don’t think that team was winning anything by reverting backwards to what they were doing with the Kyrie-show before LeBron came back. This allows them to get a new identity, which I feel is important for them at this point.
I think the best case scenario for Cleveland this year would be for Thompson to have a “breakout” type season (I highly doubt he’s capable of that but he seems to think he is), or G Hill have a good start, and someone take notice and swoop in and make a trade for those guys. Cavs get some pics or expiring contracts out of the deals.
