I didn't really watch Atlanta this year but I was a big fan of John Collins coming out of Wake...does Atlanta envision him as a C moving forwards? Him and Bagley feels like an awkward fit together to me. Like I said, I'm not sure how he came along for Atlanta this year, but he wasn't a good defender at Wake and Bagley was a poor defender at Duke too and both of them seem like PFs to me.

I knew it was coming. Been saying it all year. They were ****ing up and then when that New Orleans pick ended up at 22 I knew **** was in the toilet that was a bad omen. Was just holding out hope we could still pull something off. Plus side, GarPax can’t do anything too stupid at 7 now like draft Doncic.

Re: 2017-2018 Off-Season Thread
I think Doncic is really good so this confuses me. All year him and Ayton have been 1a and 1b with Ayton being better physically, but Doncic having the most complete game of any prospect in this draft. But that's a moot point as he won't make it past at worst the 4th pick.
I’m not really a fan of the Euroleague hotshots that get hyped up. Niko was a big name Euroleague Star and Spanish league MVP who was supposed to be so great and that worked out horribly for us. Plus I just don’t envision us being in a position to legit win a championship competing against the likes of what the Celtics have going on in the east and Philadelphia and if Bron stays in Cleveland trotting our Lauri, Dunn and Doncic as our best players?

I respect your opinion King I always do, but it's time to give these guys a little more credit. I don't think he will start out the gate phenomenal because of change of pace and adjusting, but he will in my opinion, prove to be a guy who belongs in the league and a possible star.Comment

Re: 2017-2018 Off-Season Thread
Collins was the bright spot this year and he didn’t get as much minutes early in the year as I would have liked. He is a great athletic big, but defense is his weakness. Everyone is acting like Bagley is a lock and like you it’s a bad fit as Bagley would be playing the 5 and Collins the 4. Supposedly the hawks are high on BagleyComment

Re: 2017-2018 Off-Season Thread
A lot of people thinking the suns are taking Doncic because we hired his Euro coach. I’m telling you Suns fans will riot if we don’t pick up the local stud Center.
Sarver himself is a Wildcat and watched a lot of his games. I will seriously kratos kick my tv if we don’t call Aytons name.

Re: 2017-2018 Off-Season Thread
Collins only got 24 minutes a game and averaged 10 & 7 a game so with a bump up in minutes and being his 2nd year so going up to 15 & 10 seems like a reasonable goal. I don't think he has all star potential, but should at least be quality starter.
I think Jaren Jackson is the better fit from to team with Collins from the defense side of things. He seems like more of the risk / reward pick and that part scares me. Even though they might not play defense I am leaning toward teaming Collins and Bagley as that would be a fun front court. We can worry about the defense side of things down the line when we are ready to compete.
I need someone to tell me the hawks can't screw up having picks 3, 19, 30, 34 and one of the few teams with 20 million + in cap space. You also have Bazemore who is interesting trade piece.

I mean. Doncic is killing grown men over here for 2 years now. This year he added the attitude to his skill. He's already a star and he is actually leading Madrid, on and off the court. Watching him navigating his teammates on offense is just amazing at this stage of his career.
The comparison to Mirotic is kind of funny too. Mirotic never averaged more then 12 points in a Euroleague season, while beeing 4 years older while doing so. Plus he was never the playmaker that Doncic is now.
Doncic is averaging 16/5/4 this year, so he is already way better. Remember that games are shorter and players never play as many minutes as in the NBA, his per-36 would be around 21/7/6 for all games combined.
And he is already playing around 60 games per year, so he should feel more comfortable with the schedule then College guys.
This guy is the best player I've ever seen live and I can't imagine him not working out in any situation in the league. Put him on every playoff team now and he would play a role. I don't know that you can say that about many of the other rookies in that class, especially not Ayton.Comment

We have no need for a PG so I’m not sure why BR would list Mozgov and a 2nd Rd pick as one of the options.#RespectTheCultureComment

Schroder currently has felony battery charges hanging over his head, no? Or was that cleared up already?Comment

Re: 2017-2018 Off-Season Thread
That hasn't been cleared up yet and he could face felony charges. My guess is nothing major will come from it. I am a big Dennis fan and it seems like his stock has dropped because of his 3 % dropped from 34 to 29 this year. He has never been the best defender as he is on the small side. He is locked up for a long time and at a pretty good price for a 24 year old PG who averages close to 20 points a game. I don't want to trade him so hopefully they can kiss and make up as I don't want to just move him in a salary dump trade.Retro Redemption - Starting over with a oldschool PowerBone Offense

I ask because that alone is good reason for low trade value in return.Comment
