Re: 2018 Off-Season Thread
You can be mad at Kawhi, but I'm pretty sure this all stems from Pop's inability/unwillingness to coddle his superstar. He thought he could talk to and treat Kawhi like he did Duncan, and K was like **** this and **** you. You can call it a bitch move, but I'm pretty sure plenty of younger NBA stars would react in the same negative way to Pop's style.
That isn't how the Spurs or I'm sure your precious Warriors operate.
Expecting him to do an about face and let Kawhi run things was out the question. Once he pulled the "2nd opinion" (more like 8th or 9th opinion) and Pop, Tony and Manu "ripped him" a new one the relationship was over.
I'm more than happy this mute and his band of idiots (uncle, agent and whomever else) are gone and can be someone else's problem.

Who's own coach screams at his players in the locker room (Draymond incident two years ago) and sneak disses other players on social media (by the way, I love Steve Kerr. Hate that he coaches the Warriors).
Oh, the irony....

Re: 2018 Off-Season Thread
It's just really hard for me to imagine that the better chunk of all this Kawhi stuff is just BS. Reporters make up and leak fake **** from fake sources all the time, but I don't remember many, if any, situations where so much has been said about a player of this magnitude.Comment

So I guess the last big thing for what will happend this offseason is what will happend with Clint capela. Will he stay with rockets? Go to the lakers? Go some where else? Surprised that a good solid young player like him has still not singed with some one yet.Comment

Re: 2018 Off-Season Thread
Likely because up until now there was nothing to confirm any of the reports. You just had reports of what was going on that Pop denied and Kawhi doesn’t talk so you either trust the reports or wait for things to play out to see what’s going to happen.
Well, now Kawhi is a member of the Raptors and DeMar is not. The Spurs didn’t just up and trade their franchise superstar for no damn reason so there was clearly fire behind the smoke reports.
I know the popular hot take is to **** over every reporter and act like they don’t know **** because they don’t have a 100% success rate, but at a certain point you have to realize that some guys DO know what they’re talking about. They do have sources and in some cases teams/players are feeding guys things because they want to control the narrative about themselves.

Re: 2018 Off-Season Thread
Yeah that is true the whole thing is just odd that is all. Like saying he would set out the seasons just sounds odd. If he does that you would be talk about 2 years basically not playing and that would make you more worried about his health really being good or not and also it would take some time getting the rust off from all that time out and I know you cant just set out or something and still get paid.
They probably felt like the situation was getting out of control and Leonard (with his "group") were asking for too much.
And who is to say that if the situation had been handled differently or remedied sooner that he wouldn't do it again (down the line)?
Remember, (what the Spurs) diagnosed him with is a chronic injury that he's had previously and will likely flare up again.
Will Leonard tell his new team's doctors that their diagnosis is wrong also, sit out games and threaten to leave if he isn't allowed to control the recovery time table/process?

They both chock big time in playoffs. I would say this was the first year that even one of them 2 played ok/good in the playoffs.Comment

Re: 2018 Off-Season Thread
And even that is dangerous. Because as someone mentioned earlier, some guys will just jump on what other people have reported and act like they did the work or have sources telling them stuff like that hack Broussard does. It’s definitely a mine field to wade through, no denying that, but when certain people are reporting something on top of the “I have no clue who this small time” reporter on a blog somewhere is reporting then you kinda have to start to lean towards the reports being more likely to be truthful.

All this questionable DeMar stuff on top of firing the coach of the year lol...
They really needed to do something different, so maybe everything they do this off-season works out for them. But right now it's almost comical.Comment

Apparently Kawhi has yet to take a physical, and Windhorst saying Toronto might waive the physical altogether just to get him on the roster and finalize this deal.Comment

Re: 2018 Off-Season Thread
Can Kawhi refuse the physical and would the deal be off if he did that? Lol. Just wondering...
I don’t buy the rumors that say he’ll refuse to play for them, but if they’re true I wonder if that’s something he could do?

Re: 2018 Off-Season Thread
Assuming its like other sports, if a player fails/doesnt take a physical the team he was traded to can rescind the trade but i seems like they want DD gone so bad they gonna take him anywaysComment
