I don't even think it's Toronto's location, the team is just boring to watch, if this was TMac and Vinsanity they'd be on all the time

      Re: 2018 Off-Season Thread

Just saw a report that Melo will be coming off the bench for Houston.

I really want to hear what Melo has to say about it.
"It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

"You'll not find more penny-wise/pound-foolish behavior than in Major League Baseball." - Rob Neyer

I call BS. It's probably a possibility but why would they already have decided the starting lineup in august.

I only saw the headline. Finally read the article and it's about exactly what you said. The lineup has not been made but there's always the possibility that Melo could come off the bench if it's what is best.

          No quotes. Just guesses.

          Damnit Woj.

They could always start him but stagger the lineups so that he's with the bench unit mostly anyway, sort of like a figurehead starter

Yo this story can’t be real man? Woj reporting that as a potential free agent landing spot for Kawhi this summer, the Los Angeles Clippers have parted ways with TV analyst Bruce Bowen in the aftermath of critical comments Bowen made about Leonard.

Seen this on Bleacher Report as well, this makes no sense whatsoever, are the Lakers going to chuck out one of their announcers if they say anything critical of Leonard?
This is what he said on June 22nd

I think there's nothing but excuses going on. First, it was, 'Well I was misdiagnosed.' Look here: You got $18 million this year, and you think that they're trying to rush you? You didn't play for the most part a full season this year. And you're the go-to guy, you're the franchise, and you want to say that they didn't have your best interest at heart? Are you kidding me?

"I think he's getting bad advice. I think what you're starting to see now is an individual given a certain amount of advice, and it's not the right advice. Here it is: You were protected in San Antonio. You were able to come up during a time where you still could lean on Tim [Duncan], Tony [Parker] and Manu [Ginobili]."

Yeah they were talking about it on NBA Radio. Stupid man, sucks for Bowen. With the context of everything that was happening nothing he said was out of line, and it doesn’t sound like he was ever given a chance to put context to what happened or apologize.

So if they don't land Kawhi, do they bring Bruce back?

I will trade my team's color commentator for Kawhi. No problem. It's 2018. Pride and sanity went out the window years ago when it comes to coddling players.

I heard some people say that Bowen wasn't gonna be back anyways. They're just spinning it to make it sound better to possibly attract Kawhi.

I agree 1000%, but what else do you expect from this franchise?

I'm guessing CJ McCollum's favorite baseball player is Robinson Cano?
