He doesn’t have to admit defeat, but he could have answered the question a lot better than he did.

There’s a less arrogant response for a team that is going to be drastically different to this question if it came at media day. Particularly for a guy who’s skill level wasn’t exactly a massive contributing factor to the previous team’s successes.

Yeah, I don't see the big deal in what was said, or why anyone would even care. Seems like nothing more than sports talk radio fodder if you ask me. *shrug*

I mean, Thompson isn’t lying. He told a straight fact. Can’t get mad or frustrated at him for that.

They are the defending 4 time Eastern Conference Champs until otherwise, which won’t get determined until May. So until then, his statement holds weight.

Isn’t he still under contract through the 19/20 season though?

He’s under contract through the 2020-21 season. He signed with Rich Paul so now we’re going to have to sit through all this he’s going to the Lakers mess for all eternity.

If the Lakers are signing every damn body with all the capspace their going to have this offseason where they getting the money to get AD? If they’ve got LeBron and even one of who they’re supposed to get, what assets they trading for him? What draft picks worth a damn they trading to make NO make a trade?

So the Bulls are off to a fantastic start to the year. Denzel Valentine tweaked his ankle on the first day of practice this morning so he’ll be out 1-2 weeks.

Now Lauri Markkanen will miss up to 2 months with a high grade right elbow sprain. Great.

[QUOTEYou’re the Minnesota Timberwolves. Your top veteran, an All-Star swingman, has told you he wants out. He has given you a list of teams he wants to play for. You’re not on it.

His name is Jimmy Butler and he turned down a contract extension during the offseason. He has a year left on his deal. The season is about to start.

You’re the Minnesota Timberwolves. What do you do?

“I don’t trade him,” an opposing general manager told Amico Hoops. “I tell him to stop whining, honor his contract and report to work. I tell him to be a man. He’s what? Almost 30 years old? Time to grow up.”

When Butler first entered the league, he drove a pickup truck and listened to country music. The Chicago Bulls drafted him with the final pick in the first round in 2011. Back then, no one expected him to become a star. Most wondered if he could even cut it as a pro.

                      That’s all changed.

“He was a humble country kid who was happy to be in the NBA,” one league source told Amico Hoops. “Now, he drinks $4,000 bottles of wine and thinks he is LeBron or D-Wade.

“It’s really sad because he was the best kid ever.”][/QUOTE]
