There would be no reason for him to commit so outright if he wasn't serious. We've seen this movie many times, he could've easily sideswiped the question into "I'm just focused on this year" or whatever. I definitely think he's serious, makes sense anyway.

Folks in the Media will still keep those FA Rumor Fires blowing in the wind between now and July despite him saying he’s not going anywhere, which is going to be hella annoying.

But what if Rozier makes the leap and the Celtics don't want Kyrie?

He could also be protecting himself from looking like the idiot that left a championship caliber team.

Until his signature is on paper, the media will dribble the air out of the ball on those rumors.

His name could be on paper and they’d still be talking about “I’m hearing rumors Kyrie might leave when his contract his up”, lol.

                Per The Athletic's Jay King
Several league sources have said they believe Davis could end up either with the Celtics or Lakers if the Pelicans were to move him. If he landed with the Celtics, he’d be reunited with former Team USA teammate Irving. The two have already spoken about what it would be like to play together in Boston, according to a league source.

                    Crisis averted y’all

Every team at least fantasized about signing LeBron James last summer. Most dismissed it as unrealistic and moved on. By the end of his free agency, only the Lakers, Cavaliers, 76ers and Rockets appeared to be in the mix.

But how many teams did LeBron consider before signing with the Lakers? Any beyond Los Angeles, Cleveland, Philadelphia and Houston?

Joe Vardon of The Athletic on the “Yahoo Sports NBA: Chris Mannix” podcast:

I think at one point, Toronto was kind of a dark horse there. I think there was some sniffing around on both ends.

I’m not sure how the Raptors would have cleared max cap space or offered a satisfactory sign-and-trade to Cleveland without gutting their roster to the point it no longer appealed to LeBron. But that that they even drew consideration speaks to how far the franchise has come.

If this indicates how stars perceive Toronto, that bodes well for the Raptors re-signing Kawhi Leonard. Maybe Leonard will sign in Los Angeles like LeBron, but at least Toronto has a chance to show Leonard its best first. LeBron usually saw the Raptors at their worst.

                        Averted? I feel cheated.

Just the thought of an LBJ ghost drop “I am signing with Toronto” announcement out of nowhere, has me lost in “what if” comedy scenarios that would follow.

Thibs is actively TRYING to get fired right? Like it feels like he’s doing as much to not make this Jimmy trade happen as he possibly can so that he can not have to quit but just get canned right?

                          Latest from Woj

“ESPN Sources: Minnesota-Miami talks escalated close to a Jimmy Butler deal over weekend – only to see trade fall apart. Minnesota shared Butler’s medical info with Miami, owners were involved and sides prepared to finalize. Minnesota pushed for more, talks fractured.

Those talks can always start again, but Minnesota has little else, if anything, going in the marketplace. Teams had backed away because of price and belief Minny would get deal w/ Miami. Sources say owner Glen Taylor's mandate stands to his front office: Find a deal for Butler.”

Bad teams continue to do stupid things.

The Phoenix Suns have fired GM Ryan McDonough.

Why allow the guy to draft, then handle singing and waiving players in the offseason, only to fire him a week before the regular season starts?

                              They signed Ariza too, right?

So Ariza and his reps meet with McDonough and like his vision enough to sign. But then ownership decides to remove the GM.

How does Ariza feel about that? How do you convince other vets that you got things in order?

Didn't something similar happen with Chandler? Commits to them and they started making changes to the roster to make Chandler signing an albatross.

                              Suns are a mess.
