Re: 2018 Off-Season Thread
I mean, I didn't even really call out nobody posting anything originally though. I just said this was all playing out exactly the same way as the Paul George thing last year because OJ was saying this was all different from the usual Lakers getting everybody mess we get every year.Comment

I want to be the grandfather standing behind the screen door in that Kevin Hart comedy special talking about the cat having the nerve to drink milk outside in the lawn, shaking uncontrollably everytime ESPN turns on and tells us what LBJ III is planning in free agency.

Re: 2018 Off-Season Thread
I assume the Celtics are only going to offer Rozier which I'm sure people will overreact to but I also don't think Boston wants to pay up for him after next season. Rather win with Irving, Hayward, Tatum, Kawhi, Horford and let Irving decide if he wants to lose in New York or re-up with success.
So who goes in this deal (excluding any picks), if it happens?
Rozier, Morris? Celtics still need to find $12 mm to make it work.
Baynes? Sign and trade with Monroe and/or Smart?

I believe this story since it's being reported elsewhere.

Re: 2018 Off-Season Thread
It's probably been said but with regard to Kawhi...
Anybody trading for him is obviously going to have to sell the farm, right near, given the Spurs supposed intent on keeping him. It behooves the Spurs to move him which is obvious. His credibility with his teammates and coaches are shot and they only have him one more year before he will indubitably bolt.
What I find interesting is regarding any team TRADING for Kawhi...gosh, if it's not one of the bigger risk/reward scenarios. Given the amount of assets needed to acquire him (based on the Spurs hard stance), what if he isn't the player that team is trading for? There are so many unknowns:- The biggest question: What in sam hill happened? Kawhi has been silent and an answer needs to be given from him directly
- How healthy IS he really?
- What if he comes to camp completely out of shape?
- Is he coachable (still?)?
- Will he actually resign? (so is it worth trading all these assets)
- Will he be accepted in the lockerroom? What if he gets slightly injured again...what will his mindset be - and what affect will that have on the team?
That said, the reward is also substantial if he is the player he was 2 years ago but that's just for 1 year. If I were the GM, I would want some type of assurance Kawhi wants to be on my team and in my city or that I have a high likelihood he'll resign.
Maybe it's me but I see it as a no-win situation here as the risk outweighs the reward presuming the Spurs want a ton back in exchange.Originally posted by Gibson88Anyone who asked for an ETA is not being Master of their Domain.
It's hard though...especially when I got my neighbor playing their franchise across the street...maybe I will occupy myself with Glamore Magazine.Comment

Re: 2018 Off-Season Thread
In less "fun" news, the Bulls have extended a qualifying offer to David Nwaba making him a RFA. I'm totally on board with this. I like Nwaba and the steps he's taken toward improving thus far in his young career. Would much rather spend money on him as opposed to Marcus Smart and Lance as I've seen some reports about the Bulls having interest there.Comment

So one of the phoenix NBA radio guys tweeted that a "big" trade involving the suns is happening. Dug around a little and some other "verified nba guys" are talking about it also with some reports of them going for kemba.Comment
