All I'm saying is don't look at me if three years down the line, a team is trying to offload an expensive Randle deal lol

Pay that man if you really want to, I'm cool for now

I'am sure Randle is a headache for the lakers front office. If it came down to it and I was building a contender I'd take Kuz over Randle (salaries being equal) even though I think JR is the superior player overall atm.

If you're betting on LeBron James to the Lakers, you'd have to bet $5,000 just to make $100. (In other words, they think LeBron to L.A. is a done deal.)

Favors is only three years older (how is he only 26??), has a reliable mid-range, great finisher at the rim, and is an excellent defender. Probably more of a five than a four at this point, but he can play either/or.

Randle, also plays much better at the 5, his play & analytical data backs that up. 9/10 he's too fast for most 5s guarding him & he unlocks the ability to grab and go more as he shown last season.
Alright, so if you're starting him at center, paying him $16M to $19M per year throughout his deal, then you have to compare him to other centers with similar money. Drummond, Gobert, Embiid, Jokic, Cousins, Adams, Jordan, Green (he'd count in this scenario), KAT, Gasol... There are just SO many better options at center for that kind of money. Even guys like Vucevic, Whiteside, and Valunciunas I'd rather take for that money because they're much easier to fit into a team, scheme-wise.

The way I look at it, he doesn't space the floor or protect the rim, and he doesn't do what he does at a high-enough level to warrant paying him that much money. Obviously there's some hope that he could elevate to that level (who saw Oladipo explode the way he did?), but that's quite a gamble when there's very little to no cap space to be had on most teams right now.

And asking if folks would want Randle or Favors depends on the years as well as the team. Randle at $16 Mil for say...2 years with the 2nd year a player option, I’ll take that easily for the reasons OJ and Caveman already mentioned. I’ll gladly take that in Brooklyn considering the type of team we are(Player Development or Bust).

Still has plenty of room to grow so he’s definitely worth a risk/shot.

For a team like the Wizards, Hornets, Mavs to name a few...Favors would be a better fit there than Randle.
Nets I would agree with, that'd be a good spot to try out Randle on a two or three year deal due to upside alone. But any team that's trying to make the postseason and/or contend would take Favors 9 times out of 10 IMO.

I'd agree there, but Kuzma at this point is much easier to fit into an offense than Randle is.

Suns are definitely going after a pg in FA. It makes sense since he would be the 3rd pg on the roster since Knight is coming back and possibly Okobo will be on the roster. Rumor says that they'll be going after Fred VanVleet.

I was implying a team would be better off finding a veteran big who can grab some boards for the vet min/MLE exception instead of paying top dollar for Randle.

Obviously no NBA team should be paying Reggie Evans for anything right now. I'm talking about guys like Dedmon and O'Quinn who, while they aren't as explosive or flashy as Randle, are better rim protectors and IMO will provide value more relative to their contract.
