I agree. Just from watching interviews and some of those short videos on his journey, that doesn't seem in his personality at all.

We are out of the running for Hunter and Culver now unless it’s a trade up. Cam Reddish appears to be the hot name at the moment.

If the Grizzlies take RJ, would the Knicks really take Ja with all the point guards they already have?

Probably. I'd take him over DSJ, Mudiay, and Ntilikina any day.

We only have one and he's terrible. DSJ is a backup PG.

Ntilikina is a SG/SF, Fiz made that clear with his rotations this year. Mudiay is a free agent and will not be brought back.

Maybe someone will drop out of that group. And someone will reach on Cam.

That's a lot of guards still.

This is Deja Vu for the Pels. Just replace CP3 and AD with AD and Zion. Hopefully they've learned their lesson and will take it slower building a team.

                      It's just three.

It would be Morant, Smith Jr. and Ntilikina.

And if they drafted Morant, I'm sure Ntilikina would be trade bait.

                        NBA Draft 2019

All 3 teams are in a weird spot.

For Boston, if Kyrie leaves it’s pointless. They have to give up way to much in order to be a early exit team that Davis walks away from. Could they put together a great package, sure, but it’ll be Tatum, Brown, + more and the scenario doesn’t look all that pretty for Boston. I’m not sure just Tatum and picks, trumps either other teams offers, and money wise if Kyrie does stay they have a huge mess trying to get contracts to match.. likely making NO take back Hayward, or Horford, there just no clear appealing scenario that works well for both sides. I originally thought their “package” looked a bit overrated, after the underachieving season from their biggest trade chips, Kyrie rumored to be leaving, their top 5 King’s pick winding up at 14, Rozier contract off the table, they seem to have lost a lot of footing.

For the Knicks, it gets tricky for them because their proposed package ONLY looks good if the Pelicans are high on Barrett and want to pair the Duke guys. If they aren’t, what does New York have?.. also, the entire trade is likely dependent on NY landing other “stars”.. meaning a trade isn’t likely until after free agency, which also complicates things for them. If they made the trade early and didn’t end up landing another big fish Davis could likely walk from them as well. Maybe they wouldn’t pull the trigger without the agreement of a new contract, but I don’t see AD demanding a trade just to sign long term without knowing what he’s getting himself into or if he will like his new location.

For the Lakers, they have decent pieces and a decent pick, can likely offer the most overall, but if Davis wants to go there they are in a position to possibly not want to give up all their assets. Lakers could hypothetically trade that pick to a team who wants to rebuild and move on from their “star”, run this season back with LeBron + an All-Star, plus all the youth, and then outright sign Davis after this next season. The pressure for LAL to make a panic offer and sell the farm seems unlikely since the deadline deal didn’t go down, their pick turned out significantly better, they’ll have 50 mil to play with this summer.. etc. plus the whole everyone tell them not to trade him to the Lakers, nobody wanting to deal with Pelinka, etc.. not sure if Griff cancels that out or not.

Edit: Lakers also have the benefit of possibly adding another top 10 pick to the trade, considering the rumors that teams like Phoenix or Chicago would trade their pick for Lonzo are indeed true.

Lakers going from like 11 to 4 is big. At 4 and with pelicans getting one 1 the pelicans beening able to get teo top 4 picks if lakers trade the pick might look pretty good and than if you are lakers you could still pick up a big fa and just like that you got a big 3. Heck if lakers where to trade ball to suns for a first than maybe you could than trade that pick and the 4th pick and be able to keep either kuzma or bi. Than you could have a shoot at a big 3 and keep one of the good young guys. If i am lakers that is what i try to do.

The other unintended consequence of the new Lotto rules is that the West is going to get stronger. Folks have spent years complaining about the balance of power and now the NBA has given the Western Conference teams 3 of the top 4 picks.
