On one hand it might be because I've physically watched him play since his Junior HS year, but also because his year at Indiana was nearly a massive waste & one that hurt him more than it helped him.

He's a lengthy scoring wing that has tremendous poise and composure. He's the type of guy who can get you 15-20 a night and not be any version of a locker room distraction whatsoever. His vision is pretty solid and a lot of times he actually looked for the pass before he pulled up. Pretty solid shooter before the thumb issue. Not that it's a huge thing, but he lead scoring in the McDonald's All-American game.

        I think he's a gem.

Got to agree on this one. He could turn out to be really good.

Not a change in opinion but moreso predictions:

          Jaxson Hayes = super bust
Nasir Little = should be in the G-League
Goga Bitadze = will end up being the best Center in the class
Luka Samanic = will be drafted by the Spurs and become a future All-Star

A couple other guys I like, but not as much as Bruno Fernando:

Grant Williams - Seems like a forward version of Malcolm Brogdon; just a solid all-around player that understands the game in a way most rookies don't.

Dylan Windler - Great shooter with more athleticism than you'd expect

Shamorie Ponds - I prefer him over Carsen Edwards as far as the undersized PGs go. Much better passer and finisher around the rim than Edwards while still being a good shooter in his own right (though not nearly the weapon as a shooter than Edwards is).
            NFL: Bills
            NBA: Bucks
            MLB: Cubs

Shamorie is that dude. If he was 2 inches taller, he'd be a 1st rounder.

Very weak PG class after Ja, DG and White.

Yeah, I want to state for the record that I have some concern regarding Zion's body type (weight?). All indications are that he is a hard worker with a great motor, he has immense talent but that body type gives me some pause. So there, I said it.

Not saying he is going to be a bust or that I wouldn't take him with the 1st pick (), just saying he is a little thicc.

                  I like Grant as well.

I think Edwards might be better than what he gets picked as. He's run in March was no mistake.

The same could be said about Edwards.

But this class is overall weak. We've been hearing that for months.

Shannon Sharpe basically verbalized everything I have been thinking about Zion.

To summarize, Zion is going to be a highlight caliber star, but not a league changing superstar as he's hyped up to be. It's incredibly easy to market Zion and I completely understand where the hype is coming from, but on a basketball level, he's got more than one issue.

Simply put, if Zion was going to a big market team, that franchise would have already built a statue for him. His game is unconventional, he's got weight issues (82 games even under load management is a ton vs college), a rough jay, and at times a reckless play style.

I repeat, a highlight STAR, but not quite superstar status.

I think every person has him getting injured in year 3 or sooner lol. But you can't pass up this kind of stuff....

                      Spoiler

For years... I thought LeBron James would of had some sort of injury by now. But he just had his first major injury riddled season. I'm happy I got to enjoy the last 14-15 years. I'm going to do the same with Zion. And when it ends it ends

Yeah... I don't listen to guys that don't play ball. Now if he said the same thing about Deion Sanders son. Maybe. But his take and any other writers. Go by the wayside for me. You have no clue how a player is going to turn out. I think of Greg Oden. He was a really good player. After the first few injuries. It sucked. But when he did play. You could he belong.

We know it's happening, but I found it funny how the tvguide preview for the draft mentioned the teams with the top picks, then was like "Lakers (reportedly dealing pick to the Pelicans) ".

I don't think you can pass on Zion at one, but I will say I do have my question marks on if he'll ever be that franchise carrying type of talent. It wouldn't at all surprise me if in a few years down the line people are looking at RJ as the best player in the draft.

I think there is a big draw to how a guy at his size can do what he does, but to me I'm not quite on the same page because I think all players at his size should be doing the things he does, he just has 60+ pounds on them. I think his size overall lets people look over he fact that he's not really a "big" though in today's league he'll likely play much bigger than just his height, ala someone like Barkley.

My final prediction is the same one I've had since December or so: two or three weeks into the regular season everyone is going to be saying "well damn, Zion was worth the hype," just like we all did with Doncic this past season.

I'm going to stick by my "Cam will be complete trash" prediction as well. I know Jeebs is looking forward to that one.
