Fair enough and it was definitely a odd game with 2 starters down and Jack White playing horrible. It just seemed like he settled for the same 3 pointer over and over. I doubt he has played against that level of zone before in his career.

Also up add to that. CUSE plays a zone defense. What so you think it's going to happen after you have all your points in the paint.

I'm sure no top player in the world has played against the Cuse zone. Because here is the false hope it brings. If you aren't hitting your open looks the games get really tough. Any type of iso game is closed off because it's a zone. So your main players can't take over. All Cuse has to do once jumpers aren't falling... is pack the paint. And you'll never face a zone in the NBA like that. Not even oversea.

Attacking the Cuse Zone is about getting every paint point And once that happens, knocking down open jumpers. That will open the lane up after 2 or 3 fall. And don't fall in love with the jumper. Get those easy points. All Jim recruits are long arm dudes and long guards that steal passes.

Scottie Pippen has to be the clubhouse leader in "worst takes" out of all former players.

Yeah, zero chance Morant makes it past five, will probably go top 3 IMO.

I was curious to see how Zion would do against UVA's packline defense and matched up against a legit NBA wing prospect in DeAndre Hunter. Safe to say he passed with flying colors. I thought Hunter actually did a decent job throughout but Zion was just to big, strong, and quick for him(And Hunter is a decent size wing at 6'7" 225). I know folks are getting/have gotten "Zion fatigue" but he just keeps passing every test thrown his way.

After a rough start, I also thought RJ Barrett had a great game. When he's playing under control and not shot hunting, he can be an absolute terror.

Vs Cuse you gotta get the ball in the middle of their zone at the high post and hope that you have a smart player there than can face up, knock down that 15 footer or have the ability to beat you with the pass (dump down to the other big, swing, baseline action, etc...). They're going to be extremely long so it's gotta be a big (6'7+). As a Hoyas fan, we had pretty decent success up there towards the end of the BE because we had guys like Jeff Green, Greg Monroe, and Otto who could do all of those things. They're going to trap you on the wings so you need a cutter from the opposite wing to occupy a weak-side defender too. A lot of folks don't realize how effective screening at that high post is against a zone but it can work. I always liked when my Hoyas would work the corners because Cuse is going to extend that zone pretty high.

We had 'em up there this year but we blew a late lead. Bad personnel/young guards.

That's a big part of why I'm on really high on him. The dude has a crazy motor and isn't a diva. He gets down and dirty and plays hard on both ends of the floor. He has a great work ethic, good instincts, and is unselfish. I think his skills will continue to develop and he'll be a monster in the NBA.
