      Re: More Kobe Hating

Here's a fact, Kobe is shooting 40 %. That is bad. Kobe is shooting ONLY 20.4 shots, but when you factor in that he's taking a shot for every TWO foul shots attempted, he's taking a lot more shots than his fga show. My point is this. Kobe gets to the line a lot, b/c he's taking so many shots. Most foul shots are b/c the player was fouled in the act of shooting. When you take into account how many fouls shots Kobe's taken, he's shooting much more than his 20.4 fg attempts per game. Most casual fans aren't smart enough to catch that. While getting to the line is good, it also shows in Kobe's case he's dominating the ball, and shooting nearly every possession. When he's shooting nearly every possession, it hurts players like Caron Butler and Lamar Odom, who need the ball to be effective.

Kobe played a hell of a game tonight, and shared the ball. What is so laughable, is how Kobe fans seize upon this one game, and make it out like that is how Kobe has played all season. it's ridiculous really. Why slobber over one game, when we can simply take his SEASON averages and judge him by that. His season averages aren't great, so it's obvious why Kobe fans are so excited when Kobe has a great game. Bottom line is, when you see how many foul shots Kobe's taken, and add that to his 20-21 shots per game, it really does prove that Kobe is taking a ton of shots and has the ball on every possession. The problem is, Kobe is only shooting 40 % this year, and that isn't gonna help the team. The league average for team shooting % is 45. If kobe was shooting 50 %, it might be worth it to sacrifice team ball, and leave guys like Lamar and Caron out of the offense. But he's not even close to 50 %, so obviously, the rest of the team has to shoot a high percentage for LA to be a championship type team, or even finish top 4 seed. But, if everyone's left out of the offense b/c Kobe is hogging the ball, it's impossible to shoot well without getting involved.

It's not hating to point out Kobe is dominating the ball too much. He got rid of Shaq so he could dominate the ball, and lead the league in scoring. even guys like magic, charles, etc. admit Kobe ran shaq out. Only a moron would think kobe didn't have a problem being second banana. This is what makes me mad. Kobe tried to run the offense thru him against Detroit in 04 finals. He's not as good as shaq. He shot about 35 %, and since Shaq shot 65 %, it makes sense that Kobe should have taken a SMALL role in the offense against Detroit. My personal opinion is, Kobe got tired of the fact that Shaq won all the awards, such as MVP, 3 time Finals MVP, and was no longer willing to allow Shaq AS MANY touches. Shaq shot 59 % last year, so he could still get it done, and would have if he had the touches. How can Kobe be so selfish? It's who he is. One game of teamball and a hot night against Christie can't change the fact that Kobe is still taking a lot of shots, more than 20, more like 25 or more when you see how many foul shots he's taking. He has to work SOOO much harder to get his shots of this year. He's actually dominating the ball moreso than ever. He takes the same number of shots as he did in years past, more when you count fouled in the act of shooting. If you are fouled in the act of shooting and miss, it doesn't count. You almost always miss when fouled, so that's a lot more shots then what you think Kobe's taking if u go just by fg attempts in the box score. Plus, Kobe takes a long time to create his shots without Shaq around to draw double teams. This at the expense of the shot clock, and other players touching the ball. Lamar Odom's offensive numbers HAVE gone down playing w/Kobe, vs. Dwayne Wade, a rookie. lamar odom should flourish playing w/ a talent like Kobe, and a fast paced, full court team with no center. but b/c Kobe isn't playing a 2 man offense, like Jordan did w/Pippen, Lamar isn't excelling. As good as Kobe's fans say he is, Lamar should dominate by Kobe making him better. It's not happening. IF Lamar was allowed to dominate the ball like Kobe, and feel like he's riding co-pilot w/KOBE, I have no doubt LA could win close to 55 games. But La's not on pace to do that, and Kobe's talent will be judged by whether he can win a lot of games without Shaq, and by how much better he makes players like Lamar Odom. So far, Kobe has not shown me he is in a Duncan, KG, Shaq, or even Lebron's league. This is by including every game this year, not just tonight as most Kobe fans want us to go by. Kobe has the talent to be in those 4 guys class.

Kobe's problems can be summed up by one thing. Instead of accepting that at his absolute best, he's equal to a duncan, KG, Shaq or LBJ, he's so consumed by trying to prove he's superior to them. He simply doesn't have MJ's talent, no matter what anyone says. He can't accept that. That's why he ran Shaq out of town. Only an idiot would do that. Magic Johnson constantly says that Kareem was #1 in LA. This despite Kareem was old and not as good as Magic at that stage of his career. Yet Kobe couldn't even do that despite the fact that even at age 32, Shaq is STILL better than Kobe. Kobe has equal talent to Lebron, or those other 3, but he can't admit he's NOT the best player in the world. he could be IN their class, but he's not until he's humbled. That's all I got to say. Again, look at his WHOLE season, not his AWESOME game tonight. That's not hating for us non KOBE fans to ask that much.

No, the truth is that everyone that is involved in sports is guilty of such silliness. This includes fans, media, players themselves, coaches, GM's, everyone.

Hey there Slipster.... Kobe is great... He's the next MJ actually... if you look at him closely enough you can even see a transparent #23 stitched in his jersey..

This dude in 2 to 3 years will be greater than MJ ever was. I mean look how good he is now. Even MJ cant hold off the Sac Kings by himself.

I see that it's the same three - four guys who can't stop talking about bryant. Everything they have to say is negative. I understand that these guys are McGrady fans, but they continually talk about Bryant.

The NBA in it's current state is laughable, the only interesting player, compelling player, exciting player in the league is Bryant. Bryant's always going to be around in the light, most talked about and most hated. The rest of these clowns are just holding a temporary spot as foil to Bryant's star. one year it's iverson, next is carter, then tmac, now LEbron, in two years some other highschool phenom.

In the end it all comes back to Bryant. Who's a compelling because his game most closely resembles a past player's game, which captivated the world.
