    Re: 2018-19 Transaction Thread

The big thing for Chicago was seeing what they were going to get when they traded for Otto Porter. With a guy like that, making a move like that, you risk the whole direction of your team with the hopes that his game will turn around with a bigger role, in a new location..

So far, that has worked well for them. If he, LaVine, Lauri roll into this next season with Carter back, hopefully hitting on their draft pick as well, and add a couple of small pieces they will actually be on a pretty good track.

It's not having "the guy" for the next 10 years type of track, but only a couple teams in a decade hit on that one franchise altering piece. And for all we know at this point they might luck themselves into a top 3 pick and land that type of player anyways.

Having 3 guys under 25 giving you All-Star like production is a good starting point for them to right the ship though. Even if one of them ins't in the long term plans, it's a trade asset that tanking alone wouldn't have likely provided them.

Pack and OJ did a pretty good job of going over things.

They've already burned any and all goodwill that they possibly could have earned over the years with the things that have gone down with this franchise since they've been in power. Bad decisions, interpersonal problems with players and staff. The general crap egos they have while having accomplished nothing at all in the league.

This isn't the first time we've had some pretty good players that hasn't amounted to anything. We've had good young rosters, we've had solid players and we've had a superstar at one point and they've all fallen to the wayside of GarPax. What does it matter how good Lauri potentially could be if GarPax can't get along with anybody and they'll fall out with him just like they do with everybody else? They've gone down the list pointing fingers at everybody but them. It's Scott Skiles' fault. Then they bring in Vinny and Paxson chokes him out in the locker room and the reason we can't win a title is his fault. Now it's all Thibs' fault that the team can't win a title, we need Fred to run the team the way we want so he's gone. Now it's all Luol, Derrick and Joakim's fault that we can't win and they don't fit with Fred and we need to build around Jimmy with Fred's system so they're gone. Now Jimmy is the problem even though we sabotaged him by signing Wade and Rondo, so they're gone. But now Fred is the problem and he's gone even though they swore up and down he was the savior with his system. Then we bring in Jabari which we all knew was a stupid move especially for $20 million and almost immediately he's the problem now and we basically humiliate him and send a horrible message across a league that they already have a terrible reputation that Chicago will treat you like ****.

That's not even getting into the fact that despite this team being much better offensively with Porter, LaVine and Lauri, they're still horrible defensively and honestly I just look at what they're putting together with these guys and I don't see a championship roster in the making. I see yet another era of a team who's ceiling is the eastern conference finals at best and having experienced championship success here, that's just not good enough for me anymore. Even if by some miracle the Bulls were good enough to get out of the east, who in the west is a core of Wendell, Lauri, Otto, Zach and 7th round pick going to beat in a 7 game series? Even if Golden State's run of dominance is over at the end of this year, teams are already putting the wheels in motion on taking over as the next dominate squads. If the Clippers land Kawhi and Jimmy that's gonna be a problem. If somehow the Knicks get Kyrie, KD and Zion that's gonna be a problem. Philly is trending up. What if Boston lands AD? Utah will keep getting better, Milwaukee looks legit to be around for a while. Should I really be excited about projecting to run the group of really good guys out there against the superteams of the league again every year and hoping to god that Lauri doesn't piss off Paxson and get's shipped out in the next round of 'hey don't blame us, blame THAT guy?'

Bottom line, I've seen this movie before and it never ends well and they've shown me nothing to give them the benefit of the doubt that this time will be different.

Magic and Rob were out scouting Ja Morant.. I wonder if they have plans on trying to trade up.

Phoenix wanted Lonzo, Lonzo and a pick swap with Phoenix might be realistic, but I think that’s an awful move for the Lakers.

Ugh. If the Lakers end up with a top 5-7 pick I'll be so disgusted.

Well lucky for you they can't end up in the 5-7 range unless they lose a lot more games or make a trade. Lottery is 1-4 I believe, and after that it goes by record.

That said, with the line-up of Rondo, KCP, Bron, Wagner, McGee, with Bron playing low minutes.. They might lose enough games to fall back to around 7 or so. I doubt it, but who knows.

Ball, Ingram, Kuz, Lance, all still out, Ball & Ingram for the rest of the year. Muscala and Chandler seem to be pulled from the rotation. Limiting LeBron's minutes ragarless (they actually outplayed Boston while he was on the floor last game and they didn't even let him hit 30 minutes), they are actively trying to lose right now.

The Los Angeles Lakers are signing 33-year-old Andre Ingram from South Bay to a 10-day contract and has joined the team in Chicago, league sources tell @TheAthleticNBA @Stadium.

Correct, many thought going into the season that the Lakers had a lottery floor and first round exit ceiling. Injuries caused them to fall to the floor.

I thought LeBron was good enough to have them compete with any team if they were healthy but alas, they weren't.

I dont think it is by record I think it is still like worse record better shoot at getting a higher pick or something and I known they made some changes to the draft this year where like the difference between % chance to get 1 pick for worst record compared to 2nd worst record getting number 1 pick is a smaller then it used to be.

Lottery is only in play for the top 4 picks if I’m not mistaken, the rest is by record.. meaning that if you were supposed to pick 9th and another teams name was drawn that means you hit on the lottery and you’re somewhere in the top 4.. you don’t just move up a spot or two.

Given rumors of Raptors interest in Gortat, and now with the Ibaka suspension, I wouldn't be surprised if they decided to sign him abit earlier.

Or not...They signed Eric Moreland to 10 day deal.

lol LeBron says "we'll be in touch" to Kawhi when they finished talking as they are shaking hands after the game. As a guy who covers his mouth about 90% of the time when talking to these dudes after games, I think he knows exactly what he was doing letting the camera and mics catch that one.. Dude just ****ing with people at this point lol
