    Re: 2018-19 Transaction Thread

The whole DeAndre & Dallas saga was something else.

Agreed to sign with Dallas back in 2015 to instead re-sign with his old team after being held captive. Then fate would finally bring the two sides together last summer. Now a few short months later he is traded to New York.

And here I thought some of my past courtships/relationships were messy.

What do you think will be the best case scenario for Knicks? They pretty much have to end up with KD for this to work out. If they can end up with KD, max player , and top 3 pick that would be the best case scenario. I just think they could have done better than a player who they could have drafted last year. DSJ is a ball dominant guard. So if they hope to go after Kyrie or Kemba, they would hope DSJ balls out and they flip him in offseason

To me, there is absolutely no reason they hold onto Ntilikina after this trade. I expect they will make another move in the next 7 days.

You don't acquire Smith so Frank could play alongside him.

I dunno about that. Frank could wind up being a SG/SF. I still see him having the potential to be a Batum kinda player. His value is so low right now, what's the point of moving him for a 2nd round pick?

              From Yahoo:

"The Knicks were worried about Porzingis’ brother, Janis, who’s been more involved in Kristaps’ affairs and wanted to make demands to the front office about acquiring certain players, sources told Yahoo Sports. When the front office pushed back, the doubts about Porzingis having a future in New York came into play."

I think thats a good idea. See if he is willing to switch to a wing player. He has good wing size and length, capable of becoming a decent 3 & D wing. His ball handling and Playmaking ability would be valuable from the wing

I'm listening to Alan Hahn on Michael Kay's show right now. He's trying to keep it professional but he's alluding to the fact that Janis was a huge problem. They were delusional, unhappy divas from the beginning.

Even if he doesn’t sign right NOW, they still have a year and a half to convince him that “Hey, we’re not NY. Our track record over the last 20 years(since Cuban has been there)speaks for itself)”. Now if they can’t convince him and he still walks, then maybe they have bigger issues/problems in their team.

I just think it’s a bit premature to be saying that they should be worried he’s not signing a new deal right now.

Out of all the teams in Texas, they look better suited for the future now than the other 2 teams do, especially if he gets healthy and back to his old self.

lol, I guess reason why all this happened so fast (rumors of Porzingis wanting out and actually being dealt) was apparently because Knicks leaked the rumor before making the trade, trying to make him look like the bad guy in this.

I meannnnnnnn....they did kinda build him up like that though.

“Oh he’s 7’3 and he can shoot from anywhere and block shots!! There’s nobody like him in the NBA! Guys around the league are definitely going to wanna play with him! KD and Porzingis in 2019!!!”

He was put so high on a pedestal, that he couldn’t do no wrong in NY. And considering that he was the ONE bright and shining light in that big pile of trash, can’t really be mad at him or blame him for thinking like that, especially considering what was going on around him.

Shoot, we already see it/have seen it with OBJ.

How the fans/media treat him vs how the franchise treats him are very different things. The Knicks never built him up like that. Hell, it's funny in hindsight but Phil was calling him a diva and didn't like his behavior from the jump but everyone thought it was Phil being a crazy old man.

Unless you are LeBron--literally he's it--you don't get to have your agent make personnel demands to your front office. Especially when you're a 23 year old who hasn't accomplished anything.

Of course you can. This dude who was exalted via ****ing internet memes thinks he should have say so over the franchise. His brothers have been trying to hold him over the team like he's prime Dirk since he got here. OBJ has had a historic start to his career. Porzingis has started every year strong for 2 months and then fallen off the rest of the year. He hasn't even accomplished the little bit that OBJ has done. You're trying to hold up the franchise on potential? This isn't AD.
