Not doubting you, im just saying the national media never made any kind of deal about this... but all of a sudden they wanna highlight it as a problem.Comment

It wasn't important enough for the national media care. Doubt they thought it'd ever matter. Snakes in the grass and all that..."You make your name in the regular season, and your fame in the postseason." - Clyde Frazier

Re: 2018-19 Transaction Thread
What sense does it make to ignore it instead of dealing with it right then and there? Wasn’t it like 2 off seasons ago when Woj reported that he wanted out and everyone called BS on the report? People here even went as far as to say “Woj fell off, he’s fake news now”, lol.
In the case, the child apparently.
And we’re mad at the Kids and blaming them for disciplining the enabling Parents. What a time to be alive.
The flip side of the "team loyalty > player loyalty" argument is that he was only ever Porzingod because of team loyalty. He wasn't here long enough nor did he do enough to earn any of his own. This is not KG, it's not even Kawhi. This dude made less national TV appearances as a Knick than the crying fan from the draft.
Now obviously it’s NY, so everything gets overhyped after a few games/weeks(see: Lin, Jeremy)but this goes back to my original point in that y’all were just as complicit in this as he was.
At the end of the day, the one common theme throughout not just this but EVERYTHING ELSE that preceded it...still remains. And yet, we’re supposed to believe that elite FAs are going to want to play there because....[emoji1741]*[emoji3603]#RespectTheCultureComment

Knicks were feeling threatened. GarPax was horning in on their dumpsterfire front office territory so they had to remind the world who the OG was with this whole mess.

He was known for a min, but like others have said, nobody outside of NY cared to report on him because he was a nobody, just like he is now.
He wasn’t there long enough but yet y’all were calling him Porzingod after his rookie year though.

To much to give up take Ingram or Kuz out of that and I do it. Just got home from school crazy that the Knicks made a trade so fast. I heard about that breaking news like at 12 today and I get home and see Knicks already made a trade.Comment

Re: 2018-19 Transaction Thread
This is a great trade for Knicks. Do you guys realize they got Mavs 2021 unprotected 1st and Porzingis is FA in 2020 cuz he's gonna take QO. So if Porzingis leaves which is decent chance, Mavs gonna be terrible and that becomes top 5 pick.
So Knicks got rid of salary, diva in Porzingis and might get top 5 pick with DSJ and get max FA
Knicks just fleeced the Mavericks
Well done Knicks, they finally won a tradeComment

I’d say the chance of him leaving Dallas is slim to none. Mavs will have an improved Luka and over $50 mil to max him out and add another quality player. Unprotected pick doesn’t mean much if the Mavs reach 50 wins which is more likely than KP leaving.Comment

Re: 2018-19 Transaction Thread
No, I don’t see it as a bad thing at all. They get a year and a half to see how his health is. They also get a year in a half to show him how great it is play with Luka. Then in 2020 when the Mavs have over $50 mil in cap space they can max him out and bring in another max player. Remember, the Mavs have one of the most stable front offices in the NBA. This front office has a track record of pulling off successful trades to bring in players to put around their star(s). They are basically the anti-Knicks. The Knicks seem to change their direction every couple of years and have been horrible at bringing in the right players. KP is going to think he’s in heaven once he gets to Dallas.
None of this is good for Porzingis. He's banking that he will have a great 2020 and prove his injury is nothing.
What if he gets hurt again? What if he lacks explosiveness? What if the Mavs struggle? What if him and Doncic don't end up working out? What if Cuban starts smacking Janis in the face during a tunnel confrontation?
When you got a chance to take the max, you take it. Especially after a major injury. Taking the QO only benefits the Mavs. That's why Knicks fans are confused by that announcement.

Re: 2018-19 Transaction Thread
As for the whole brother thing. It was reported in New York many times and Phil Jackson was the parent that tried to warn us. But yeah, NY fans were in cloud 9 with Porzingis. He was the unicorn. The fans finally had a special player. A special player mind you that many thought was a bad pick. The fans were trying to show their appreciation to Porzingis for proving them wrong.
But then Phil tried to trade Porzingis and got dumped. The media made it about an old man that didn't understand today's players. Fans ate it up because the Knicks sucked and how dare Phil try to trade the unicorn.
Now two years later, here they are. The men that replaced Phil traded the unicorn and cleverly threw Porzingis under the bus to prevent fans from turning MSG into a giant camp fire for the freezing homeless.
What a mess. But it's the Knicks.
To continue on Phil. This is incredible really. While Phil was here you had the snake Steve Mills doing his best KD impression and making Phil look bad. Then he slithered his way into the Presidency, acted as if Phil was off his meds and would handle things better. Meanwhile, this same dude is telling us that Porzingis was the problem and ask him why they traded him.
That's the same thing Phil said and he got labeled a crazy out of touch old white man. But now we gonna pretend Mills didn't backstab this dude?
