Also teams like Toronto carry the stigma for getting close but never getting over the hump... Its kind of a start over for them this year and you just have to see

Atlanta was #1 in the east once and got weight roomed out of the playoffs... Raptors arent fradulent like that though.

Once you put them under pressure and see how they perform you can tell if the team needs a makeover or what they need to help them elevate to a better position
People are moving goal posts now.

Let them come up short again and it’ll be nothing but jokes/memes by the same ones gassing them up.

I’ll just continue to be on the sidelines like “Oh y’all didn’t see this coming?” What’s that famous line about ignoring history? [emoji848]

Going by this, you literally don’t want people to talk up any team except Golden State then. [emoji1741]*[emoji3603]

When was the last time we saw a top seed in the east constantly get eliminated by someone not named Lebron?

Good trivia question, had to look it up. 09-10 the Celtics took down LeBron's Cavs, again robbing us of Kobe/Bron.

I find it funny that I'm caping harder for Toronto than their own fans, but that's understandable giving what y'all have gone through the past 3 years. I believe in you guys though and I see you and Milwaukee as the top 2 teams in the East. C's LAST YEAR when healthy may have been the best team in the EC last year, but Mil and Tor this year > Cavs last year and C's this year.

It’s not that I don’t think Toronto can be diff/better, I just think the Celtics, Bucks, Pacers are better teams than they are.

Who's not saying they don't look good right now though? There seems to be more attempts at crowning them conference champs right now than there are people just acknowledging that they've come out of the gates hot and look pretty good right now.

People can talk up anyone they want. Just don't mock the Raptors for regular season success, but then lay off of the Sixers, Nuggets and Bucks (etc), as if they have done anything.

Hawks home court is just sad. They need to sell that team, it’s worse than a WNBA crowd.

I can understand arguments for C's and Bucks but Idk what you're smokin' if you think the Pacers could beat the Raptors in a 7 game series. The Raptors are literally better at every position other than SG.

                    Lowry > Collison
                    Green < Dipo
                    Kawhi > Bogdanovic
                    Siakam > Young
                    Ibaka > Turner
                    Raps bench > Pacers bench

Or really anyone not named the Warriors or Cavs. Rockets are getting **** on hard right now but they're actually playing like ****. Raptors meanwhile look amazing but people mock them cause LeBron was their kryptonite...well newsflash, he's gone and so is DeChokezan (nice, right?).

Although I'm not gonna lie, I would be extremely interested in the timeline where the Lakers meet the Raptors in the NBA Finals to really put that theory to test, lol.

I mean, you can't hit me with a "Who's saying that?" then follow that up with something nobody's saying either..lol

Argument seems to be moreso if these are "The same ol Raptors" that will flake out in the playoffs...I get the skepticism, but I can also see the view that this is a different team...who seems to be jelling early.

John Wall has 6pts in 2 1/2 quarters vs the "godly" defensive guards Augustin, Gerian Grant, Evan Fournier and Jonathon Simmons SMH 🤔

I'm just happy as all get out the Bucks are in the conversation, period, after being dormant for many years.

The difference here is clearly that none of those teams have been gassed up repeatedly over the years nor have vocal fan bases whining about referees and playing a victim card every year that’s contributing to what Toronto is getting right now.

Stop sitting here acting like not getting taken seriously is some new exclusive problem that Toronto is facing. The Hawks, the Pacers, the Clippers getting dismissed isn’t something that just happened this year.

There are literally people saying they’re better than the Celtics and already calling for them to win the conference. It’s most certainly being said.

I know that the current conventional wisdom is that there are no untradable contracts, but Wall's deal seems unmovable to me. I say that because he and the Wizards need a divorce IMO, but who would want to absorb his Super Max contract?
