Nah if you dug into my post history, I actually gave him props for wanting to go out on his own because no one was wanting to do that anymore.

But then he starting becoming too flat-earthy and too woke for my liking. Had nothing to do with his relationship with LeBron. Then, like any fan base, too many Boston fans getting obnoxious and over-hyping him. Reading posts non-stop during last year's ECF how Celtics would've "swept" or "won easily" had Kyrie been playing but many of these same people were dismissing Kyrie/Love's injuries in '15 when I tried the same argument that CLE would've beat GS was getting old.

And on the subject of leadership, I'm very well-versed on it between the self-education I've done the last 18 months between not only leadership training seminars and 4-5 books on the subject, but through practical experience being a small business owner and having 8 employees on my team. Any credible leadership book, seminar, or whatever will all say the same thing, leadership starts at the top and the best leaders are those who lead by example and walk their talk. When Kyrie made his request and wanted out of LeBron's shadow, he was publicly declaring he wanted to be the man. Well to be the man, you gotta be the leader, and he has shown multiple times that he has not yet learned how to be the leader that Boston needs and choosing not to be at Game 7 is a bad mark on his leadership resume.

You may not agree with my opinion on the subject of his leadership and that's fine. My argument though is sound and backed by proven leadership principles that he has failed to display on multiple occasions now. The good news for Kyrie and Boston is he is still young, growing, and maturing. It's not too late and he may become the leader they need some day; but he's not there yet.

I've seen you bring up the Kyrie Game 7 thing from last year multiple times; the only people who really know if he should/could have been there are the Boston Celtics and Kyrie Irving. None of us really know what was discussed/determined ahead of time between him and the team, so it really is a non-issue unless they decided it was (which it doesn't appear they did). Furthermore, I've never seen you say anything about Gordon Heyward missing nearly all the of the Celtics playoff games in favor of his rehab. Why does he get a pass? It just comes off as having a weird axe to grind against Irving, IMO.

I'm basing my opinion off of what we do know. What we do know is that his surgery was elective, meaning it did not need to be done at a certain time. The longer he waited the worse it could become, it was a deviated septum I believe. But it wasn't emergency surgery and being an international superstar like he is, it's not like he had to be on some surgery waiting list like us normal people do. Let's say it was getting really bad, he still could've gotten it the next day after Game 7. Maybe it was scheduled already? Well, surgeries can be rescheduled, happens all the time.

As far as Boston upper management goes, of course they're not gonna put their star player on blast publicly, that'd be a really bad look and a P/R nightmare. And that seems to be the lens most of you look at it through. You're like "Boston didn't make a big deal out of it, so it's not a big deal". I don't see it that way.

On the subject of Hayward, he's not worth much discussion. I thought it was a bad move to give him the max and his injury only made it a worse decision. His play this season is evidence that him coming back to the playoffs last year would've been the wrong move, there's no way he would've been ready.

He missed the last 20ish games of the season and all of the playoffs and was just supposed to come out and play in a game 7....

That isn't what he said, he meant Kyrie wasn't even at the game in street clothes. I guess he's comparing it to Kawhi not turning up to the Spurs playoff games?

Still think it’s hyperbole to think he’ll be completely out of the NBA in 2 years especially considering WORSE talent have gotten multiple opportunities in their career.
