I realize they lost to the Knicks and it pisses me off, but Walton and Ingram are both good pieces.

My question is, who would you replace Walton with that would improve them, while managing the circus that Lebron brings with all of the different personalities the team has right now? As of right now we are a team with a bunch of solid to good role players (Albeit a few may materialize to Allstar talents) with one bonafide superstar. Ol' boy is making due with what he's got.

Ingram was overhyped. As of right now he IS a good role player. For his age that is more than suitable. But if he matures to a 20 ppg, 5 & 4 guy within a year or two, do we change the tune on him? You need three "guys" in order to win a championship in today's NBA.

With all that being said, If I had to give any of my young pieces away, Ingram is the asset that has to go. Lonzo and Kuz have shown they are less of a liability and more consistency. We are still one piece away from anything legitimate.

Ingram is getting the D’Angelo Russell treatment(not saying it started with him, BTW)where people are quick to throw labels on guys when they don’t look like superstars at 19, 20, 21 years old.

Ingram’s active hands on defense give them something they can’t replicate when he’s gone. Idk what it would look like statistically but I would imagine when Lonzo, Ingram, LeBron, McGee/Chandler are all 4 on the floor that the Lakers defense is substantially better than when any of those guys have missed time and probably up around the top marks in the league.

But at the other end he’s just a bit of a disappointment. Skilled player but just don’t seem to be aggressive enough consistently enough to look at him and believe you can get something done in the next 3 years or so with him as your 2nd guy. If they don’t believe they are landing a big fish this off-season without moving anyone I think they absolutely have to explore the possibility of at least seeing what might be available for him. If they still believe a Kawhi signing or something is there it might be best to just hang on to him and go home early this year.

Hart has been a bit of a disappointment as well IMO. He attacks aggressively and might be their best catch and shoot 3 point threat, but he really hasn’t offered much else. Booted from the line-up when healthy, outplayed by KCP when everyone has been injured. He’s usually late to swing the ball because his first instinct seems to always be to look for the driving lane. Doesn’t finish all that well because he usually falls to the ground looking for a foul. A bit over-aggressive on defense but doesn’t contest the 3 that well and gets lost off ball like Kuzma. His aggressive nature does make him a very strong rebounder at his size though.

Watching Svi putting up 30 a game in the G-League it kinda makes me wonder if maybe they wouldn’t benefit from letting him get a chance at some of Hart’s minutes.

It took Kawhi 4-5 years to pop. D'Lo was not the right fit for the team, but Ingram can be if he puts on a few lbs to drive more efficiently and become the wing defender that we saw a glimpse of against the Warriors.

Gonna take a hard no on it taking Kawhi ‘4 or 5 years to pop’. One of the best players on a Spurs team that went to the Finals in his second year, champion and Finals MVP in his third. He always had the capacity to score, he just never got the touches until his fourth year because they still had Duncan and Parker starting.

Kawhi was not the player he is today nor was he player that he was the second to last year prior to the injury.

Yes, he was always a defensive assasin, but his offensive skills have greatly improved from his first few years. I think we could agree there was no way in hell he’d carry a team his first few years, which he can do today. He had to be groomed, and with Timmy & TP at the helm it gave him time to develop his game without the pressure of carrying the team.

That’s why I think Ingram may improve these years; he’s not the ‘guy’ and can perfect his craft while all the pressure and attention is deflected to LeBron for the time being.

Edit: Excited to watch Mavs @ 76ers. Small games within the games being DJ vs. Embid & Luka vs. Ben

Edit x2: It looks Like we have some good games tonight! Trailblazers vs. rockets 10 pm EST.. defense will be optional

Even though they lost. Obviously this a Dan Toni effect. But it's nice to see Rivers playing his type of game. He's always had a iso game. Just didn't play for the right person.

Time for the Jazz to begin their playoff push. Back to back road wins against Cleveland and Detroit, schedule should be easing up here soon with a lot of home games on deck.

Mitchell was great last night. 24 second half points.

Toronto could do nothing with Giannis, but got the win anyways. 30 points on 70 something % from Siakam.
