Re: Larry Brown...You're a hypocrite
Larry Brown is a hypocrite. If their is a problem with too much aggression and anger in the league, he is just as guilty as anyone. He always bemoans the state of the game blah, blah, but he tries to attack a ref because the ref wouldn't talk to him? Very hypocritical. The Sports Preacher

Re: Larry Brown...You're a hypocrite
I know Larry Brown is the first coach to get upset at a ref but he didn't hit him. He didn't go into the stands and hit a fan. Had he done any of that he would have been suspended and fined. If Larry Brown was a hypocrite he would have went into the stands and hit the next fan that tauted the Pistons.Comment

If he's moaning about how violent and thug-like players are these days, because they choose violence over talking things out or whatever how is his reaction ANY different? He may not have actually hit the ref, but he sure as hell wanted to and if he actually TRIED to hit the ref then it's hypocrisy.
Now if he were able to restrain himself from attacking the ref, but was only mad at the ref, that's not hypocrisy.
Attacking him though is very much a hypocritical act. The only reason he didn't hit the ref was because people were holding him back.
And this is why the Pacers were moaning about the security of the Pistons. There simply was nobody there to hold fans nor players back, or at least nobody was responsive enough.Comment

Then why was he restrained from the ref?
People do things in the heat of the moment they would never do otherwise.
You can't tell me that he would never have taken a swing at the ref because you simply do not KNOW. Why did Larry Brown charge at the ref out of anger???? That's not the action of a guy who's out to seek peace!
Larry Brown's not a bad guy, I like him. But I do think he's a hypocrite nonetheless if he goes off on a rant about how violent players are these days, and turns around and actually charges at a ref, verbally abusing him. I would think he would have to be restrained before it ever came to blows, and that would be a natural progression from spewing such venom at a ref.Comment
