PG might jump into the MVP conversation for me.

Thunder need to keep the ball in PGs hands when trying to close out games.

I swear anytime I've watched the Thunder in close games this year, good things happen when he has the ball and it's just the exact opposite with Westbrook.

IMO he’s in 2nd behind Giannis.

This is gonna be one of those years where you really feel bad for the other 2-3 guys that didn't get it. PG has had such an amazing season from the jump, was dealt a tough hand with Westbrook's injury, and still steadied the ship. He's having his best year by far and he's doing it at an elite level on both ends.

Giannis is probably the front runner because of the record, but I think PG has been the better basketball player overall.

I would't call one over the other at this point, they both lead in categories that they are stronger in going by stats.

Giannis is on the left, PG on the right. And Giannis has played 300 less minutes than PG and put up 300 less shots with shooting 58%. Giannis also leads in rebounds, assists and blocks.

I do agree both of them are having great years.

And that is adding his 22% from 3 pt land.

PG13 has had a stellar year but this is Giannis's award to lose. He's the clear favorite and I don't really think it's that close. Oddly enough bball ref only has PG13 as the 5th favorite to win it.

This list is depressing because it just means that because of LeBron’s injury he’s going to snap his streak of MVP level seasons. 13 straight years of finishing top 5 in MVP shares.

WC is super tight again and will likely come down to the last day of the season.

The Rockets are in 5th but are only 1 game ahead of 6-8, 3 games ahead of 9th and 4 games ahead of 10th.

East is tight too, in a bad way lol. 3 games separates 6 through 10. 6 seed is .500 though.

Imagine the extra outrage if Lebron misses playoffs despite finishing 44-38, but 6 seed in east has 41 wins. I actually think if Lebron and Lakers are the team to be impacted by the conference playoff format we might see nba consider a 1-16 format more.

A combination of ideas I've read would be interesting. 1-16 seeds, and starting from the top, each team chooses first round opponent. So if they don't want to face a team from other conference in rd1(which is the downside of 1-16 seeding is the possible travel and timezone difference for some matchups) , they don't have to.

Round 2 and3 could either just be reseeding, or continue the "pick your opponent" style. Even in east VS west matchups that'd add a story to the match. 3 seed Warriors VS 14 seed from East might not sound like a big deal. But Warriors choosing to face a certain team, even if they would've matched up based on seeding, would add more intensity. They chose to face you, prove them wrong.
