I'm enjoying 2k3 but, after reading all of these posts about Live I'm very intrigued.

I will def check out Live.

Make sure you Live players know that EA made a bone head mistake by switching arcade and simulation modes. Arcade is actually the correct sim speed of the game (toned down) but you have to turn on all of the fouls, backcourt violation/etc.

I felt Inside Drive was the best basketball game last year with NBA2K2 coming in second. Right now I feel overall Live and NBA2K3 are a draw. Live has really caught up alot and is much improved. These games more so than the football games are really made better than one another only by the users preference. Live IMO does have better animations and player movement and game pace than NBA2K3 but NBA2K3 aint bad in any of those areas plus it plays very well and has alot of other features that make it a good game.

I am really interested in seeing what ID2003 is gonna have that can seperate it from the others or will it just be a roster update.

nba live 2003, but the PC version doesn't come out till Nov. But nba live 2003 (arcade mode) will hold me down till then.

NBA2k3 is fun too--but I have to go with live

Re: OK I need to see some numbers on who likes what

I only have nba2k3. A couple days ago I was going to return it but last night the game hit me. You know when you buy a game and it suddenly pull you in that is what happened to me last night. This game is a sim. I am learning a few offensive plays to run and there are working and when I play the cpu I change my defense from man, half court trap, 2-3 zone. I am finding myself thinking through the game and this only happen when I play my football games.
I am misssing less layups and dunks now. It almost like you have to know your players abilities because ifyou jump to soon or someone is contested your layup you may miss.
The greatness in this game is the subtle things that I didnt see in last year 2k2 game. The more you play, the more you see real nba basketball. IMO.
I am looking to play NBA Live this weekend.

Best year ever to be a sport gamer.

What??? Not to get into this debate, but in 2k3 all the CPU does is break long runs and completes bombs, and your defenseless to stop it.

                  <hr /></blockquote><font class="post">

Um, I don't know if you're talking about NBA or NFL 2k3 but either way that's a straaaaaange statement. The vogue complaints today are about the lack of long pass attempts by the CPU in NFL2k3 and the lack of fastbreaks in NBA2k3. And I haven't seen anything that's defenseless in either game.

I thought your post as a whole was pretty good but that statement in response to my post is, well, wrong.

                  Grunt, great point.

I couldn't agree more. The whole "which game is better" debate is really pointless imho. Both games are truly awesome in their own respect and it ultimately only depends on personal preference as to which game is better. Many people like the awesome sim qualities of NBA 2K3, while others enjoy the quicker pace and razzle dazzle of NBA Live 2003.

I am really enjoying Live 2003 this year. 2002 sucked but I'm glad EA finally decided to step up and make a good game this year. 2K2 was awesome this year, this year 2K3 is still good but I'm feelin' Live a little more right now...
                      Haven't played ID yet...
